What if you're my weakness? | the blue, Gracie Abrams

For the next few weeks, all anyone could talk about was the Yule Ball. Aerea couldn't blame them. They've never had to go to any dances, but she was getting sick of it.
Multiple boys had asked her to go with them, and she turned them all down. Half of them she didn't even know!
"You know you're going to have to say yes to one of them eventually," Daphne said. They were in the common room working on their Potions essay.
"Daphne, I didn't even know half of them! Either way, they only want to go with me cause I'm a champion, not because they like me," Aerea said.
"You do notice a lot of people don't like you," Daphne said.
Aerea shot her a glare.
"I'm just saying, you're a bitch to anyone other than the people you like," Daphne said.
Aerea sighed. "Am I really that bad?"
"Not to me," Daphne had a look on her face that Aerea knew all too well.
"What are you thinking?" She asked.
"Did you ever think about asking someone yourself? We aren't living in the 1800s anymore," Daphne said.
Aerea burst out laughing. "Yeah, sure, do you know how humiliated I'll be? Besides, I don't even know who I'll ask."
"Maybe a certain Beauxbatons boy?" Daphne wiggled her eyebrows.
"Oh, shut up!" Aerea said, but there was a light blush creeping over her cheeks.
Daphne laughed. "Do whatever you want, just keep in mind what I said."
"Yeah, thanks," Aerea smiled at her, grateful that she found someone she was so comfortable with.

The following week, Aerea was convinced that she would go to the Yule Ball alone.
The winter holidays had started two days ago, and Christmas was four days away, which meant that the Yule Ball was for days away.
Last week, Cedric Diggory asked up to her, surprising her immensely.
"Can I talk to you? Alone, preferably," he asked, glancing at Daphne.
"Uh, sure?" It came out as a question.
The odd pair sat down on one of the benches.
"What was it you wanted to talk to me about?" Aerea asked.
"I need your advice. I want to ask Cho Chang to the Yule Ball, but I don't know how," he blurted.
Aerea was surprised, to say the least. He was asking her for girl advice?
"Uh, okay... before I answer, can I ask why you're asking me this and not someone else?" Aerea asked.
He shrugged. "You're one of the only girls that don't follow my every move because I'm champion. Plus, I think you're nice, even though lots of people say otherwise," he said, giving her a small smile.
Aerea stayed silent for a moment. She never thought to hear those words out loud. "Wow, thanks," she smiled at him. "So, Cho... she's a Ravenclaw, right?"
He nodded.
"Right... okay, what I would do is get a handful of flowers, and when you can, get her shine and then ask her. She seems like the type that doesn't want the big stuff, you know?" Aerea said.
He nodded. "Yeah. Hey, thanks! Do you have a date yet?" He asked.
She scoffed. "No. Everyone who's asked me either asked me because I'm a champion or I had no idea who they were, so I turned them all down. I'm convinced I'll have to dance on my own."
"Don't think like that. Sometimes, it just takes longer for guys to pick up the courage," Cedric said.
Aerea smirked. "Like you?"
Cedric chuckled. "Yeah, like me."
The two of them laughed.
"Maybe you're right. I really hope I don't need to dance alone," Aerea said.
"You won't, trust me. There are tons of boys that would want to be with you," he said.
She turned to him. "And how would you know?"
He shrugged, a smirk on his face. "When you're friends with a lot of people, you hear things."
Aerea narrowed her eyes, but there was a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"It was nice talking to you, Aerea, we should do it more often," Cedric stood up, offering her a hand.
"That would be nice, actually," Aerea smiled. "You can tell me all about Cho after the Ball," she smirked.
A blush creeped up his face, but he smiled. "Yeah, I will. And you'll tell me about your date."
"Deal," the two shook hands on it, bursting out laughing.
Cedric bid her goodbye and walked back to his friends, and Aerea walked back to Daphne.
"What was that all about?" She asked, a curious look on her face.
"He wanted advice on how to ask Cho to the dance," Aerea laughed. "It was cute."
Coming back to the current day, Aerea was stressing out. She had turned down everyone who asked her because she didn't seem them fit.
Merlin, how she wished she had just said yes to one of them.
Walking through the corridors, trying to ease her mind, she heard someone call out her name.
Turning around, she saw Louis running up to her.
"Hey, what's up?" She asked.
He seemed to be out of breath. "I - um - do you have a date to the Yule Ball yet?" He blurted.
Aerea blinked. "Uh, no?"
"Oh, thank god," he let out a breath, then realised what he said. "I didn't mean it like that! I was just scared you were going to say yes!"
Aerea snorted. "You're cute," a second later, her eyes widened. "I didn't mean it like that."
Louis chuckled. "I guess we are both not very good at this. I wanted to ask you, will you go to the Yule Ball with me?" He asked, a cute smile on his lips.
Aerea beamed. "Yes, of course I will!"
Finally, someone she liked and knew!
"Great! I'll meet you at the Great Hall then, sound good?" He asked, the cute smile so on his face.
"Sounds perfect," Aerea grinned.
"I'll see you then," he started to walk away when Aerea said something.
"Wear a red tie to match!"
He grinned. "Will do!"
Aerea watched him walk away.
This was really happening.
She wasn't going to the Yule Ball alone. Not at all. She was going with the boy that she secretly hoped would ask her.
Chapter 19!
So I don't remember if I already had the scene between Cedric and Aerea, but if I did, I can't find it anywhere, sooooo.
