Hello beautiful people! Just want to say thank you so much for reading my little stories... I feel like I am getting really boring and pointless and that I am losing viewers. Is there anything that you would like me to change or add to this? If you do then please, please do tell me in the comments below. Thanks xx!
'Oh my god Katy stop pacing! You are making everyone nervous! Look! Jessie is now tucking on her braid that I've just done. Calm down! I am not doing that braid again!' Tamra exclaimed and made Katy sit down.
Katy had been walking around in circles as she chewed on her nails with her eyes on the ground. Alison was in another check-up with the doctor while Katy worried about whether Alison will like her or not. Jessie was there too, watching her mother walking around which was also winding her up. Tamra was watching the two carefully. Katy was like an ant on a hot pan while Jessie was being... oh well, a hot mess... A little girl nervous because her mother is nervous.
'How should I do this Tam?' Katy said as she continued pacing around the hallway. 'Listen Katy, just take it easy on her and seriously, don't spring the truth onto her like what you usually do.' Tamra said as she picked Jessie up and placed her on her lap. 'Like what?' Katy said, stopping and throwing her arms in the air.
'You know... Like BAM!' Tamra joked.
'Oh no I won't... I'm not even going to tell her about anything... Like everything about the switch will just confuse everything.'
'Wait so are you saying that you're not telling her?' Angela said as she appeared at the end of the corridor with a croissant in a hand and a coffee in the other. 'Why will I want to tell her that?' Katy said, 'And I thought we've just had breakfast Angie.'
'Oh shut up! I'm hungry. Are you going to tell them? Does Jessie know?' Angela asked as she took another munch out of her croissant. 'What do I know mommy?' Jessie asked while she leaned into Tamra. 'Great now you've confused my little baby.' Katy dramatically rolled her eyes. 'Nothing babes...' She said sweetly as she glared at Angela.
Jessie shrugged before turning around to play with Tamra's wavy short locks. 'Where's mom?'
'I'm here birdy...' Mary said as she dropped all her bags down onto the floor. 'So what did I miss?'
'Practically nothing mom. And seriously you need to stop calling me your birdy in front of my little pancake. We're still waiting for Alison to come back from another one of her checkups.'
'Will teddy bear suit you better then?' Mary teased. 'But I'm teddy bear grandma! I'm your teddy bear!'
'See? Now you've made her upset! God mother...' Katy shrieked, putting her hand on her forehead. It seems like Jessie has once again lightened the mood around the hallway as Katy looked as if she had forgotten where she was and what she was about to see.
'Well I'm sorry drama queen.' Mary laughed. 'Miss Hudson? Alison is ready to see you.' The nurse said, her eyes not once leaving the clipboard in her hand. 'Um yes... of course.... I'll be right with you... mom I'll come back in a bit and then Jessie can meet her?'
'Of course Katy... take your time in there....'
'Keep calm at all times Katy...' Tamra said as she held Jessie still in her arms.
'Bye mommy! Good luck!'
Katy followed the nurse into the hospital room that Alison was staying in. Katy gasped at the sight of her, so broken, so hurt... so helpless. Alison had a bandage wrapped around her forehead with blood seeping through. She had a black eye and countless bruises scattered across her face. There were cuts on her nose and her collarbone, which was sticking out much more than it should. Her limbs were weak and thin, her eyes showed deep fear and pain. Katy tried to smile at her, but it hurt too much. This was her fault... she thought to herself. If only she knew....
Alison looked up at Katy in fear, as if she was afraid that Katy was going to eat her up like a tiger... Katy stared back into those big grey puppy eyes which were very much like hers. In those eyes there was nothing. There was no life, no hope in her eyes. They looked burnt out... tired. It was as if Alison had nothing to live for anymore; It was like the life was sucked out of her...
'Hello Alison, my name is Katy. Nice to meet you...' Katy said nervously as she approached the little girl slowly, watching her reaction and being cautious not to frighten the broken little girl. Alison moved back against the back of the bed as Katy got closer, but gave no response. Katy finally sat down by the side of her bed and smiled faintly at her.
'Please don't hurt me...' Alison whimpered as Katy reached out her hand, only wanting to stroke her bruise and pull a strand of hair away from her face but she squeezed her eyes shut.
'Oh honey I'm not going to hurt you... it's okay.' Katy said backing off quickly, regretting her last move. 'Alison this is Katy and she is here to help. Will you be polite to her and talk to her or maybe even give her a hug?' The social worker said nicely but firmly, but Alison shuddered in agony. 'It's alright...' Katy stated almost immediately. 'It's fine for you to be afraid Alison, I understand. I just want you to know that I am never going to hurt you and that I will take care of you.'
'Really?' She whispered, looking up at Katy. 'Of course.' Katy said, wishing that the little girl will give her a smile or a hug of some sort, but all she did was curl up tighter and waited for something to happen.
'Well Alison we will come back here later to see you.' The social worker said, breaking the silence. 'Okay of course. I will see you tomorrow then Alison. It was nice meeting you.' Katy said before leaving the poor little girl alone.
