(In England...)
Alison Elizabeth Moore is actually Katy's biological daughter. Thanks to the switch, she will never have a loving mother again. Alison's mother died when she was still a baby. When her mother was still with her, Alison and her older sister Annie were very well taken care of. Their mother cared to their every need with love, until she got sick, very sick. Their mother's heart had problems like Jessie's did, but unlike Jessie, her heart transplant was not successful and the operation took away a mother and a wife.
At first, the Moore family handled the situation quite well. With Alison being only around two, she did not understand what was going on and where her mother had gone. On the other hand, Annie, the older daughter who was eleven at the time, had a really hard time accepting the fact that her mother was gone. She was terrified as she was not as close to her father than she was to her mother, but she always kept her feelings to herself, thinking that her father was not going through the same things.
Mr Moore was a layer. Before his wife's death, he was doing very well in his career. But unfortunately after his wife's death, his career was ruined as he started to drink excessively and he lost almost all his money by gambling. Now he is nearly broke with two children under his care. The Moore family is so poor that they can barely afford three meals a day.
With the phone call from the internationally famous pop star, Mr Moore seized the chance by telling Katy how hard it would be if he had to give a healthy Alison away and take in a sick girl called Jessie. Hearing this information, Katy was overjoyed as she could keep her daughter, but she still wanted a good life for her biological daughter, so Katy ended up giving Mr Moore a million pounds to help him care for his children. Little did she know that her money was used to pay off debts and used to gamble. Within two months, Mr Moore ended up using up all the money that Katy gave her. With bills piling up and two children to tend to, Mr Moore finally splits.
There was a day in the March when there was no one picking the girls up. Alison was left alone at the nursery with no nanny in sight. The staff at the nursery tried to contact Mr Moore, but he had his phone switched off. It was until Annie realised that her sister is not home yet and contacted their nanny, only to find out that she had been fired.
Annie immediately fetched Alison and brought her home. Poor Ali was terrified and confused as to why no one picked her up and also why her sister was so worried when they got home. The rest of the day went on pretty well after Annie made supper and played with her little sister. Alison asked many questions, but Annie only said that she did not know what happened. Of course, deep down Annie was scared too. She was anxious about what their father was up to after he fired the nanny.
It was almost till midnight when Mr Moore finally returned home. Annie did not know whether to feel relaxed or to feel afraid of what her father had to say.
'Father? Is everything alright? What happened? There was no one there to pick up Alison. I got very worried.'
'Well you can suck it up and deal with it.' He slurred.
'Father, are you pissed?'
'HOW DARE YOU? YOU ARE SUCH AN UNTHANKFUL BRAT!'he roared.
'I'm sorry father...' Annie apologised almost instantly, where was that loving and kind father that she once had?
'Do you know how much work I have to put into you and your sister who is not even your sister? Do you know how hard I work everyday to support you two and how dare you ask me if I'm pissed?'
'Father I'm so sorry... I don't think that you're feeling very well, would you like me to make you some food?'
'SO YOU CAN POISON ME? NO THANK YOU!' He shouted before slapping Annie across the face.
Annie fell onto the floor as tears started pouring out of her eyes. She had never been hurt by her parents before.
'Think of your behaviour brat.' He said as he walked up the stairs without even looking back at her daughter.
The next morning when Annie woke up, her father was no where to be seen. Annie got dressed and took Alison to the nursery, unfortunately, they found out that Alison had been resigned and Annie got resigned from her private school.
Desperately, Annie took Alison home in tears. She cannot believe that she had no school to go to anymore. Going to school and seeing her friends was the only thing that distracted her from the pain of losing her mother. Unlike any other average teenager, Annie actually enjoyed going to school and learning. She is a dream student as she is all-rounded, being talented in everything and getting straight A's. Her mother was so proud of her, and now she had nothing left.
'Annie, take me to nursery... I want to see my friends!' Alison complained after the third day she had to stay at home.
'I know that you do Ali, so do I...' Annie whispered as she burst into tears.
'Annie what's wrong?'
'Everything Ali... nothing's right in our lives anymore...'
