'Alison honey I've got someone to design your room for you. Do you want to come and have a look to see if you like it or not?' Katy asked for the second time when Alison said nothing. Alison had been acting very strange to Katy. She seemed to be much less responsive than she was before... Maybe it was because she drowned in the pool, but on the bright side, Alison had no problems with being around Jessie which calmed Katy's train of thoughts whenever she sees the two girls together.

'Look Alison turned out alright...' Katy said sadly.

'Then why do you sound like that?'

'Mom don't you notice that she doesn't really like me that much?'

'Stop this nonsense Katy! She loves you! She might just have a slight issue with trusting adults... I mean with her past... I don't blame her honey... she's just been here for two weeks, give her more time Katy. Besides she is doing well with Jessie. You can hear them talking and laughing.' Mary said as she continued reading the papers.

'Whatever you say mom...'

'Katheryn-'

'I'll go get Jessie and put her into the shower before we go out for dinner...' Katy said, leaving her mother before another lecture can come her way.

'Jess can you get into the showers before we go out for dinner? You've been playing tennis all day and you're sweaty.'

'Okay... but mommy can you come in and stay with me? I want to chat with you and have some mommy and Jessie time.'

'Of course baby... get in... I'll come in with your dress in a little bit.' Katy said.

'Alison do you want to take a shower? I can go set up a bath for you if you want.' Katy said as Jessie sped up the stairs. Alison turned around and stared right through Katy as if she did not exist. Katy waited for an answer but nothing came her way.

"I mustn't cry... cannot cry..." Katy whispered to herself while going up the stairs. She had never felt so ignored in her life. Why does a little girl like Alison have to be so mean to her?

'Jessie honey what do you think of Alison?' Katy said, grabbing a stool and sitting in front of Jessie as she bathes herself.

'She's nice, oh and she loves swimming now. She always asks me if we can go for a dip, and her black eye is going away... she loves that doll house that you got her mommy.'

'Has she said anything about me?'

'No mommy... but she did say that you were scary when she first got here...'

'Well did she mention anyone else in her life? Like maybe her mommy?'

'No... but we talked about her imaginary friend...'

'Okay... sorry I shouldn't be so noisy.'

'It's okay... mommy but I thought having her here is going to make you happy, why are you even sadder than before?'

'I'm not sad Jessie.'

'But you are mommy. You don't smile like you always use to anymore.'

'Honey I am so sorry...'

'But why are you always so upset mommy?'

'I just feel like she hates me sometimes you know?'

'I know... just like how Justin hates me.'

Katy smiled faintly at her daughter's comment. Justin is Jessie's classmate and Katy is absolutely sure that he likes her little girl. 'Justin doesn't hate you Jessie... no one can hate you, you are too sweet.'

'Then no one can hate you mommy.'

'You're so sweet Jessie. Let's dry you up, come on.' Katy said as she wrapped a towel around Jessie's head and got her into her robe. Jessie raced Katy out of the bathroom immediately and into Katy's room. She jumped onto Katy's bed and started to roll around. 'Jessie you're making my bed wet!'

'Mommy come get me! Come get me!' She screamed mischievously. 'I'm coming for you monkey!' Katy said as she pranced onto the bed and held Jessie down within seconds. Katy got on top of her daughter and started tickling her.

'AH MOMMY! MOMMY STOP IT!' Jessie chuckled as she tries to break free. 'Mommy's got you now!' Katy joked as she kept tickling her daughter. 'MOMMY STOP IT!' Jessie screams as she stares at her mommy's pretty face. It had been so long since she had seen her mother smile so wholeheartedly. Although it really tickles, Jessie loves it when she spends alone time with her mommy and wishes every second of the day can be like this.

Jessie was enjoying her mom's company when Katy suddenly screamed and fell onto Jessie. 'MOMMY! WHAT HAPPENED? ARE YOU OKAY?'

'Jessie come on! Run!'

'WHAT? Mommy!

'She is a bad person! She's trying to hurt you Jessie!'

'NO! MOMMY WILL NEVER HURT ME! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?' Jessie yelled as she moved Katy off of her. 'Oh no... mommy's bleeding... what have you done?'

'Jessie I had to save you!'

'GRANGIE! GRANDMA!' She cried as she ran down the stairs.

'Jessie dear what's wrong?'

'Mommy's hurt! Alison hit mommy! She passed out!'

'What? I'll call 911 right now...'

'Jessie you don't understand! She was going to hurt you!' Alison said desperately, following Jessie up the stairs again.

'Mommy will never hurt me! We're just playing a game!'

'That's what they tell you Jessie! But they always want to hurt you!'

'No! Mommy will never do that! She's my mommy!'

'Jessie please listen!'

'No go away Alison! I hate you! I never want to see you ever again! I hate you!'

Jessie pushed Alison away as she went back to Katy's side, hoping to wake her. 'Mommy please... wake up...' She sobbed as she hugged Katy... afraid to even think what will happen to her of something happens to her mommy.

The ambulance came and Katy was loaded onto the stretcher instantly and Mary rummaged through every bowl there is in the house, hoping to find Katy's car keys. 'Grandma we have to go!'

'I know Jessie, here finally! I've got the keys... come on, Alison, you too... yes! I am not leaving you alone here!'

Mary got the two girls into the car and drove off to the hospital. Jessie and Alison were both in hysterics, not knowing what was going to happen, although they worried about two very different things. Katy was fine, but she was still unconscious. 'Please can I see my mommy?' Jessie begged the doctors.

'You may... but we don't expect her to wake up yet...'

'Grandma please can I go and sit with mommy?'

'Of course, I need to go check on her too...' Mary said and walked down the hallway.

'Jessie wait I'm sorry-' Alison sobbed, grabbing Jessie's arm.

'Get away from me! You are a sick monster! I said you can come home with me to make my mommy happy, not hurt her! I hate you Alison and I don't want to see you again! Don't you dare follow me!' And with that, Jessie ran down the hallway, leaving Alison all alone again.
