"Leave us alone" james spoke to their men who were standing behind him and net

Initially, they were hesitant, but eventually, they decided to depart, leaving the two boys standing alone in the exquisite garden that adorned the front of james's lavish mansion.

As the sun began to set, the sky was painted a stunning shade of red. The breeze blowing through the air was cool and refreshing, offering a sense of relaxation to both of the boys as their bodies were enveloped in its calming embrace.

Despite feeling physically weak and drained, james made an effort to bandage himself up before meeting with net. His restlessness and desire to open up about his thoughts and feelings to net trumped any physical discomfort he was feeling.

net breathed in and out the crisp air as he took in the view of the other man's garden. In contrast to james's well-kept and aesthetically pleasing garden, net's own garden was not very impressive. However, he wasn't going to feel competitive towards james right now as he always does.

He was scared of what would james say to him. Hearing him calling net did make his heart flatter and somehow sure that the man was gonna confess to him but still that knot inside his heart didn't let him rest for a bit.

His heart and mind both were restless as hell.

"You're sweating net" james chuckled, eyeing the man.

"I'm not" net shortly replied.

james sighed thinking net would mock him back like they used to. He really missed those days, rivalry at its best. He enjoyed them so much but it took so much time for him to realize it.

But it's never too late to fix everything right?

"Why did you lie?" james asked, eyes up at the sky.

"When?"

"Oh don't play with me" james snickered again and net tched with a chuckle.

"I did so what? And it's not a lie completely... I'm leaving tomorrow"

"Why?" james spoke softly, stepping closer to the man that was standing a little far from him.

net first didn't notice, he was just too focused staring at the orange sky while thinking how would he control himself from kissing the man beside him.

"Do I need a reason?"

"Yes you do, you can't just leave everything behind and start a new life"

"First I don't have anything here, and secondly I'm not starting a new life, I'm just starting a life without any pain. The pain of me seeing your face again" net's voice cracked saying those mere words. he turned his head at his left and froze seeing james standing close.

So close that his breath was fanning on his cheeks. As both of them were the same height, the closeness did make net stiffen.

"You have nia here... Isn't that a good reason to stay? And I thought you liked me? So why would it be a pain to see me?"

"She has you, a cruel... cold... heartless... a devil like me shouldn't be near her." net exhaled heavily before continuing. "And you hate me... you were the one who told me I shouldn't feel the things I do, so yeah I'm just trying to do that"

As james's gaze bore into net's, he felt his nerves escalating and had to take a deep breath before averting his eyes.

Something about those eyes of james made him intoxicated.

"nia needs you, she cries... she cries and tells me to stop you from leaving us- I mean her. I tell her you'll be back but I don't know if that's true... Even if you're a devil, you are still one of the only close one of that poor orphan. Isn't that a enough reason for you to stay?"
