2. Sangeet

It was the night before Dhawal and Natasha's and Chirag and Dolly's Sangeet. Since the Pandyas' had insisted on it, Amrish Bhai couldn't refuse and had to agree. All the preparations were in full swing, atmosphere was buzzing with laughter and music, the aroma of mouthwatering Gujrati food was in the air. However, strict instructions were given by Amrish that no lady of Makhwana house was to set foot on the dance floor and Dhawal and Chirag were to make sure their respective fiancés adhere to this rule.

As the wedding was within a week, both Natasha and Dhawal got so caught up in the preparations that they weren't able to meet up again. Natasha had called Dhawal that evening and asked to meet up for something urgent. He rushed to see her thinking something had happened to her grandmother. But he was in for a surprise. They had met up in the same park from their first date and under that tree, Natasha had proposed to him with full works, going down on one knee and giving him a handmade flower ring.

He was stunned to say the least. He had never fathomed that Natasha would do something like this. He had never in his life imagined that he would be at the receiving end of a proposal like this from a girl. Brought up in a family like the Makhwanas, he had never seen his Mom or Bhabhis express their feelings to the men in their family. So even though Natasha was such an assertive girl, he always assumed that he would be the one to take the initiative as he had since the day he proposed. But tonight, not only had she declared her love in full filmy way but had also come forward and initiated a hug.

Well, that set me straight. To never underestimate Natasha Pandya.

This was the second time she hugged him. And he was starting to kind of like it. Well, he was a guy. Of course he liked it. He had been hugged by girls before. Dhawal Makwana hu yar. But hers felt so cozy and comfortable. She was smaller than him and petite, his broad shoulders enclosing her almost completely. Her head fitted just right under his chin and his arms at just the right height to wrap around her shoulders and back. She fit perfectly into him, he thought.

She had looked so happy and excited for the upcoming Sangeet that even though he tried to approach the topic, he hadn't been able to tell her. And then one of her brothers had called her and she had rushed off.

After the conversation they had on their first date, Natasha was feeling quite relieved. Dhawal had reassured her regarding all her worries and her heart was content that she was making the right decision. Even if he was a tiny bit egoistic and immature, he was a nice guy and in love with her. He cared about her family as well and that was all she wanted. He had done so much for her and her family in the last few days and she had also started to like him. He had already declared his feelings to her twice so she also wanted to express her feelings to him in some way and had decided to do a proposal in her style.

That look on his face was worth this! she thought, smiling to herself, entering her home.

And the hug was too, said the voice inside her head. It was, though, she sighed contentedly, her smile widening at the memory. She hadn't intended to but had ended up hugging him again. He looked so cute with that surprised expression on his face that she couldn't help herself. A second later, another thought popped.
