An alternate moment instead of the Ruby scenes. I had wanted cute pre wedding flirting and romance without Dhawal in a girl's outfit.

22. Pre-Wedding Jitters

The plan was set. Arrangements were done. The bride, the nakli dulha and the asli dulha were all briefed up on what to do when. Now it was just time to wait for the wedding day. Which was tomorrow.

Dhawal and Natasha were both feeling very nervous and excited at the same time. Well, for obvious reasons. Nervous because everything had been planned meticulously but anything could go wrong at anytime. They didn't want Natasha accidentally marrying Shashank because a diversion couldn't be created or something else similar to this. They needed to make sure they got the property papers in time. There was so much to do and ensure it happened on time. Excited because...well...they would finally be getting married to each other while actually being in love with each other this time. It would all be real this time, like it was supposed to be. They would finally be starting their life with each other like a real husband and wife, be partners in everything that mattered.

It was Natasha's Mehendi tonight and Haldi early next morning. Everything had been fast tracked on her and Shashank's insistence so they could get the papers as soon as possible before Chiku transferred the Makhwana house in his name. Just days before she had been confessing her love to Dhawal and hugging him in the middle of a public park, her heart finally forgiving him for everything that had happened in their lives. Her feelings finally out in the open for the world to hear. And today she was preparing to get married to another guy.

Sometimes she felt like laughing at her kismet. She never got to have what she wanted easily. She had always had to work hard to get it and she supposed why would this be any different. Fate was making them work hard to finally be together with each other.

Life had thrown so many curveballs at her that she didn't even get surprised now when another one landed. It was just how her life was. She wondered what was in store for her next. Would she have a happy married life? Or she would have to deal with more misunderstandings and trust issues? That was one thing that she was a bit afraid of. In the entirety of marriage with Dhawal, they had been battling communication and trust issues with each other. That had been a major factor leading to their divorce.

She just hoped that this time onwards, this wouldn't be something they would need to worry about. She knew Dhawal loved her immensely but somewhere that tiny pinch of fear was there inside her about their future. She wished they could have had more time before getting married again. But circumstances were such that it wasn't possible.

Natasha leaned back on her bed, staring at the night sky outside, the moon shining bright among the darkness. How she wished she could be happily celebrating her wedding tomorrow to the love of her life with all of her and Dhawal's family participating in the festivities, no hard feelings between them. But it was too good of a thought to be true.

Her phone buzzed with a text.

Dhawal : Maddy, are you awake?

She smiled. They had been texting very frequently since they had declared their feelings to each other on Mahashivratri. In fact, they had never texted each other this much as they had done in the past few days. Well, it was mainly because they couldn't really meet each other with their families always around but also because they had never really been in this phase of their relationship ever where it was impossible to keep without talking to each other. There was always something or the other that had kept them from actually enjoying these little moments of love. And all other problems in her life apart, she was relishing it.

Natasha : Han...can't sleep. Kal ka stress ho raha hai...

Dhawal : Mujhe bhi.

Dhawal : Maine backup plan bana liya hai wese bhaagne ka.
