16. Realizations - Part I

It was finally the day of Dhawal and Suhani and Yash and Isha's wedding. After many hurdles, so much drama and chaos, this day was finally here. Ninety percent of the people who were involved in this wedding did not want it to happen but Amrish, Amba and Chiku were hell bent on seeing this through.

Since they had returned from their camping trip, Dhawal had been in two minds about his impending marriage. He had thought a lot about his decision and how it was affecting him and Natasha. His heart just wasn't agreeing to let anyone else inside it except her. He didn't know how he would be able to lead his life without her in it. He had made up his mind to seriously talk to Mots and cancel everything. Even if he couldn't get back with her, at least he could stay alone with their memories and not be thrown into a new relationship with someone he didn't care about.

But since the day Chiku had blackmailed Isha into marrying him, unknown to everyone and her, with Natasha as the witness, Dhawal had been furious with her. And just to spite her, in a stupid decision, he was going ahead with this marriage. He was present physically in the events and doing the rituals but his heart and mind were elsewhere. His heart was still not ready to go through with this. But he did not have any choice.

Natasha too was having a very difficult time these days. Only few days had gone by since their marriage was annulled and since then everyday she had had to face Dhawal and to top it off, be a part of his wedding festivities with a smile on her face. Did no one realise how traumatizing this was for her? To not even give her time to grieve her relationship and be expected to dance and be happy in the wedding of the guy who was her life partner just two days back? What kind of torture was this? But she was enduring all of it because she wanted Chiku to be happy on the day of his wedding.

She was currently in her hotel room curled up on the bed and crying her eyes out. She didn't know how she was going to get through this day. She still didn't understand why this was happening. What had she done that he had decided suddenly, that too just days after they had confessed their love to each other that he was going to marry again. Did she matter so little to him that he wasn't affected at all by their divorce? How she was going to see Dhawal take his baaraat for another girl? See him take seven rounds of the sacred fire with someone else. See him make all those promises that a husband makes to his wife, that he had made to her, to someone else. When he had declared to her in Pandya house after Isha and Chiku's marriage that he would get married in front of her eyes and pulled Suhani along with him, she had felt everything inside her break apart. But today, she was feeling like she would rather die than go through this.

Why had she fallen in love with him? Why couldn't she stop loving him still? Even after all that he had made her go through, why was her heart still beating for him and him only?

She wiped off her tears and took deep breaths to make herself stop crying. She would have to get up and go out soon. Everyone was waiting for her. It was the day of her ex-husband's marriage but it was the day of her brother's wedding too. And she had to be there for him. Be happy for him. She wouldn't let him down. She wouldn't look at Dhawal at all today. She was going to be her brother's sister today and forget about everything else happening in her life.

With that resolve made up in her mind, she got up to get ready when the door to her room opened and to her surprise, the Bhabhis all rushed in.

"Natasha! Tujhe ek bohot important baat batani hai! Ye shaadi, ye sab kuch hume rokna padega!"

Natasha's was shocked when she learned that Amrish Bhai had blackmailed Dhawal into divorcing her, taking advantage of his guilt and keeping this condition to return Pandya store back to her. Dhawal, being so blindsided by his brotherly love, didn't even realise how he was being manipulated and had sacrificed his love for his brother's happiness.
