When Natasha came out of the bathroom, he was packing his bag, getting ready to leave. The romantic moment and atmosphere was gone.
"Chalo...lets go. Sab wait kar rahe honge" he said
"Sab log ghumne gaye hai...wo I made up a story about yesterday and they left so we could sleep. Tumhe aise gaadi chalane me mushkil hoti," she told him. She was still feeling awkward about her wardrobe malfunction.
He was pleasantly surprised. It looked like Natasha had forgotten and forgiven their animosity about Dahi Handi. He was relieved too. At least he would get some sleep. And he was absolutely not going to mention anything about what had happened a few minutes before.
"Wah...to chalo phir der kis baat ki! I'm too tired kal raat ko jail me beth ke. Tum bed pe so jao, I'll take the sofa." She was already shivering before, he didn't want to make her suffer anymore.
"Nahi...I'll take the sofa. Its too small for you. Tumhe car chalani hai for hours. You need good sleep"
How the tables had turned in one night. Till yesterday, each was adamant on taking the bed and today none wanted the other to be uncomfortable. Dhawal was worried about her health. And as for Natasha, the way he had saved her Dhama....again...had made her forget every misgiving she had about him. He had cared for Dhama as if she were his own grandmother and not to mention how he was worried about her own health, even more so than her. When he had applied sindoor on her forehead in the mandir, her heart had filled with emotion. She was falling in love with him.
She was right though; the sofa was too small and not comfortable like the one they had in their room...and he was feeling bad about her having to sleep there.
"Dhawal...agar tumhe koi problem nahi hai to...I am ok with sleeping on the same bed." She said, feeling a bit awkward asking him to sleep together. "I know mene hi ye condition rakha tha...but abhi situation hi aisi hai ke hum dono hi uss khaat pe nahi so paenge. Let's not make a big deal about this. We are married, after all."
He was surprised at her offer. It was not that long ago that it was their wedding night and she had declared her thoughts on this matter. At that time, he also hadn't thought much about what they would do once they had to live in the same room after marriage and her request felt reasonable to him. But he hadn't expected that she would say this so soon. No doubt they were husband and wife but their relation was far from it. Sleeping together on the same bed wouldn't have been that big an issue for him on their wedding night as it was going to be for him now. He had started to like her, care about her and think about her a lot. It was as if she was the only thing on his mind nowadays. Even fighting with her was something he had started to look forward to. And the small moments they kept having...were becoming huge in his thoughts. His attraction to her was intensifying every day. He had no reason to say no to her.
