Sayuri woke with a bucket of water splashed on her face. "Good morningggg, sissyyyyy," Satoru made a face, grinning from ear to ear.

"Good morning, Onii-chan," Sayuri glared at her brother with her death eyes. "What is it-?" she gasped and looked wide-eyed at him. "What happened, how did you know?" Satoru asked her, confused.

"What-what happened?" Sayuri stuttered, trying to process her sense of a death.

"In the main city, where most of the Sorcery Clans live, five curtains have fallen, trapping the Gojo, Zenin, Kamo, and other clans," Satoru explained. "We are requested to go and help because, for some reason, the strongest clans in history are not able to—"

Sayuri interrupted, "If they aren't able to exorcise the curses, the clans, how are we supposed to help?"

Satoru shrugged, his usual carefree demeanor not wavering. "Because I am the strongest! Let's go."

Sayuri sighed, dripping wet and feeling her frustration mount. "Oh, sure, because when the top sorcerers fail, the logical solution is to send in the second-string team."

Satoru winked, "Exactly! Plus, you know you love a good challenge."

Sayuri rolled her eyes, grabbing a towel. "Remind me again why I bother getting out of bed?"

Satoru chuckled, "Because the world would be so dull without you, little sister."

"Yeah, yeah," Sayuri muttered, "Let's just hope we don't get trapped in there too. My death eyes are not ready for another all-nighter."

"Don't worry," Satoru smirked, "I'll protect you."

"Great, that's reassuring," Sayuri deadpanned, "Coming from the guy who splashes water on his sleeping sister."

"Hey, it worked, didn't it?" Satoru laughed as they headed out.

Sayuri couldn't help but smile a little despite the looming threat. At least with her brother around, even the most dangerous situations had a touch of ridiculousness to them.

As they reached the site, the sense of death weighed heavily on Sayuri. The atmosphere was thick with cursed energy, and she could feel it pressing down on her. Satoru was by her side, ever the cheerful presence, but even he had a serious look on his face now. They joined the other sorcerers gathered there, all of them looking grim and ready for battle.

Nanami stepped forward, explaining the situation. "The first curtain is easy to pass through. The second is a bit tricky but manageable. We'll have to surround it and find the curse or curses. The third curtain is where some of the clans are trapped. They're protecting themselves right now. In the second curtain, the Gojo, Zenin, and Kamo clans are kept. The curses there are really strong, and the number of unregistered special grades is shocking. I can't believe we missed so many."

Yuji saluted as they divided into groups. Sayuri found herself with Atsuya Kusakabe,Takuma Ino, Mai Zenin, and Noritoshi Kamo. They headed towards the first curtain with ease. As they stepped through, the cursed energy hit them like a wave.

"Na-Nanami said the first curtain wasn't very strong," Ino muttered, looking around nervously.

"Well, he clearly underestimated this one," Mai replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

They were immediately set upon by grade 3 and 2 curses. Mai shot her revolver with precision, taking down several curses in quick succession. Noritoshi used his arrows and blood manipulation to pin down and destroy curses. Atsuya Kusakabe swung his katana with deadly accuracy, slicing through curses left and right. Ino donned his weird ski mask and joined the fray, his movements agile and swift.
