Epilogue 2
Colby's POV
Oh how things have changed over the years. Where do I even start?
After the twins' fourth birthday I found out that I was pregnant with another set of twins. Noah just really had to hit the twin lottery with me. This time we had a set of boys. A year after them I got pregnant once again. This time it was only one baby and our last, a girl. Like her ma she was born intersex.
The Carmichael-Kane family now consisted of seventeen year olds Rylen and Callum; twelve year olds Miles and Shane; and eleven year old Jade.
After Jade me and Noah both agreed that five was enough children. So we made sure that she couldn't get me pregnant again. It was either that or no more sex. She got her vasectomy very quickly after that conversation.
I knew that I wanted a big family since I was an only child. Like Ms. KJ said, the hell of pregnancy was worth it for each one of them.
I just wish she would have told me how hard the teenager phase would be.
Rylen has always been my biggest troublemaker but in an innocent way. She was a curious child and one to always stick up for her classmates which led her to get sent to the principal's office sometimes. And don't get her started on her brother. She will go to war for him. I love that she is very protective of her family, just like her ma. I just wish that she had other ways to defend them besides fighting.
Callum on the other hand is still very different then his twin sister. I thought that with time he would become more outspoken or not so timid. With the family we have there isn't really anyone like him. Most of the family is very outspoken, adventurous, and assertive. I do not wish for him to change however. I love that he is who he is despite coming from a family like ours. The one thing that I do wish would change is how he still gets bullied. No one has physically hurt him since he was young. He doesn't know that me and his ma know that kids still make mean jokes. I'm glad that he pays them no attention.
Miles and Shane are identical twins both physically and personality wise. They have maybe two things different from each other. They are inseparable. Wherever one is the other will be found. We tried to get them to separate so that they could have their own lives without relying on the other but they chose to always be together. They came out a bit more calm like me compared to Noah. They love to play as many sports as they can. With them you do not want to mess with their little sister. They love being big brothers and show it anytime they can.
And last but not least, Jade. When Jade was born we didn't know if she was intersex or a baby boy. After some test we learned that she was an intersex girl. Noah was happy to have a little girl just like her. Her being the only one not born with a twin worried me. I didn't want her to feel left out like her siblings. I was happy that she could have this to not feel so different then her siblings. Out of all our children she is the one that came out almost a perfect mix of me and Noah. She has Noah's blue gray eyes that run on her side of the family, light brown hair like me, and the height of Noah. She is still young but at the rate that she is growing I don't doubt she will be taller than Noah.
I have the perfect family. We never planned any of this. We only knew that we wanted to love our children unconditionally and make sure that they were happy with themselves.
Noah and I have only told Rylen and Callum the complete truth of what Noah's family does. The other kids don't know anything about the agency or any missions. We decided that once the kids were fifteen we would tell them the truth. Although there has not been any dangerous event or anyone trying to harm us in years we still didn't want the kids involved. The less they knew the better.
