The gamble of love

Intro

Hi all, I am Joshephine Sainz, or as everyone calls me, Jo. I am currently 21 years old, I live in Florida and I am an elementary school teacher. I share an apartment with my best friend, Taylor. Me and her moved here together a few years back.

Growing up, I had a pretty hard time making friends. Everybody was interested in me only because of my brother, Carlos. He is a Formula 1 driver. So it's been hard living in his shadow you know. Luckily my parents were very supportive of me and gave me the opportunity to make something of myself outside the race world. I enjoyed racing when I was little, but I just knew it's not meant to be my career. That's when we moved and I studied teaching and now I'm living my best life. The kids bring me so much joy.

A few weeks ago, Carlos phoned me and asked if I wanted to go on a vacation to Italy with him. He was missing me and I also missed him so much, we have a really close relationship. When he told me it was just going to be him, Lando and his new teammate and I, I kinda wanted to say no. Me amd Lando have a bit of a hsitory together.
We met when I was 17 and still living with my parents and Carlos at the time. We hit it off really quickly, and it's crazy when I tell you that I was fully inlove with him. I was young and didn't know any better and we got a thrill out of the whole 'secret dating' thing. Eventually it just got to much, the secrets, the long distance, his fame. I was heartbroken when I decided to end things. The same night I ended things between me and him, he was spotted leaving a club with another girl. Which hurt to think he can move on that quickly, like I meant nothing to him, but we haven't talked since. Obviously Carlos does not know about any of this, he would probably murder us both if he found out. No hard feelings from my side, I just don't want to associate with that. He was my first and last boyfriend, if you can even call him that. I tried meeting people, but like I said, it's difficult when they find out who I am.

I gave in and agreed to go on holiday with them. I missed Carlos and I needed to get away for a bit, I think it would do me really good. Vacation starts in a week, so I have alot to get done before than. Carlos booked me a flight ticket which I just received, "Look Tay, I got my ticket." I tell her excitedly. "Finally girl, ugh I'm so jealous." She says and I just laughed. "Oh come on you are going to have a great holiday with your family." I tell her and she just nods.

It is currently Sunday night and I am busy grading papers for the semester's report that needs to be handed in Tuesday. I finished quite quickly with all of them and gave a sigh of relief as my work is finished.
I then went to my room, which has it's own bathroom and took a shower and got dressed in my PJ's. I then dried my hair and climbed into bed.
