Angelina was sleeping soundly on my chest. I'd been up for about two hours, but refused to move. She looked so comfortable and peaceful here.

The morning light shined on her features. Her gentle features appeared ethereal, bathed in the soft glow of slumber as a serene smile graced her lips. And I wondered what she was dreaming about. For some reason I hoped it was,

Me.

~~~
"Ivan!" I heard Vera shout coming down the stairs.
Lost in my thoughts, I found myself drifting into the realm of memories with Angelina once more as Angelo, Ivan, and I sat together on the couch.
"How could you!?" I got up into a sitting position, running a hand through my hair.
"Ivan, how could you?!" Vera's furious face came into my vision, glaring at me with hatred. We all looked at her confused.
Ivan stood up and tried to talk to her, "Vera, do you want to talk in pri-"
"No!" She shouted at him.
"How could you use her?! Are you mad?!" Her furious screaming led the rest of the guys to the living room; they wore the same confusion on their faces as me.
"I was far off disgusted! By the kidnapping part but pretending you like her, is so much worse!" She continued shouting, stabbing her finger at his chest.
"Angelo, how could you commit such a repulsive act against someone, especially a girl who placed her trust in you? You've always been the most dependable and compassionate one among us. Why would you do this?"
Her full attention was on me now, angry fuming, you can practically see the fire in her eyes.
"And you! You did the worse out of all of them!"She exclaimed pointing her finger around the room. You didn't only use her but you made her fall for you and said things behind her back!" She was charging and me now, but Ivan was holding her back at the shirt, "you ruined her!"
Ruined her...
My whole world shattered to pieces. Her mouth just kept moving and moving but no words came out.
My mind took in everything, yet I didn't react.
She told her
She knows. And now she's mad.
What was I to say? Deny the undeniable reality? When it was evident to all that she spoke the truth.
I found myself speechless, devoid of words to shield myself or offer solace. There existed no justification for my actions, no excuses to lessen the weight of what I had wrought upon her.
"If you're saying all that shit about her behind her back, what do you say about me, huh? That I'm foolish, that I'm naive. What's your opinion of me! What do you say about me!" Her voice rose as she unleashed a barrage of punches on Ivan's chest, each strike fueled by frustration and betrayal.
The void within me permitted the spectacle to unravel before my eyes, offering no need for interference to shield me from the stark reality.
My empty, tired eyes locked onto Ivan, quietly taking in the intensity of her angry words as he returned her gaze with a silent resolve, his face a tapestry of unexpressed feelings.
The weight of silence enveloped us, allowing me to absorb the unfolding turmoil. No longer a vessel of emptiness, regret and heartache flooded my being. Her cutting words echoed relentlessly in my mind, each syllable a dagger piercing my heart, causing it to bleed and ache. Yet, amidst my own anguish, I knew that my suffering paled in comparison to Angelina's incomprehensible pain.
Time slipped away, each passing moment shrouded in a heavy silence that enveloped the room. Uncertainty lingered in the air, casting a shadow over my surroundings. Part of me yearned for solitude, a chance to drown my sorrows and lose myself in memories of Angelina once more. In my subconscious, she was my solace, my unwavering love, a place where her presence was a sanctuary promising eternal devotion. The dreamland where her love was my reality, a heaven that crumbled with the dawn of each new day, leaving me to face the harshness of reality. The impending cruelty of reality loomed, ready to unveil its unforgiving nature, a stark contrast to the fleeting paradise of my dreams.
Ivan had finally calmed her down, and she was now sitting on the chair opposite me.
"Nicolas... her life has gone to crap when her parents passed away, and ever since she met you it's gotten worse, she doesn't want that for her future. Just let her go."
