Nicolas

She stayed by my side throughout my sleep, a gesture of kindness that struck a chord within me. The realization that I had never did the for her left me with a peculiar warmth in my heart. I knew that she would have appreciated the same from me, yet I had not extended that same level of care, when she reluctantly stayed with me.

Nothing hurts more than waking up, and seeing her next to me, it hurt but it also felt good somehow.

"Good morning." She said, and I now realized that she had woken up.

"Good morning." I replied, "Did you sleep here, the whole time."

I did in fact remember that we'd been in bed since five o'clock yesterday evening. I only slept that long because of the lack of sleep I had gotten. However, I found myself pondering about her sleep, unsure of how much rest she had managed to get. It crossed my mind if she had stayed beside me throughout the entire night.

"Yeah, I was up the whole night last night, hoping you'd come back, so I didn't get any sleep." Her words hit hard.

She stayed awake for me, and I failed to return, leaving her waiting even after a full day had passed. The weight of her sacrifice weighed heavily on my conscience, stirring feelings of regret and a desire to make amends.

"You stayed up waiting for me," I said, a statement rather than a question.

"I guess I just had some hope you'd keep your promise." Her words resonated with disappointment, highlighting the impact of unfulfilled expectations and the lingering sense of betrayal that clouded our connection.

"Nicolas." She held my face in her hand, "It's okay. Now." She says getting up from off the bed, "It's time for you to get ready, I'm pretty sure Angelo was calling for you when you were asleep."

~~~
"We found him this morning. We were gonna wait until you woke up from your sleep to bring him here, but he had something else planned." Angelo explained.
They caught him, they caught Vikor.
After four years of none stop tormenting we caught him.
As I cautiously swung open the door to the basement, I was greeted in the dimly lit room, and in the middle sat Vikor, his figure illuminated by a single flickering bulb overhead. Bloodstains adorned his shirt and face.
"Where the fuck is she!" His voice echoed in the room.
"Woah, calm down there buddy." I said grabbing a chair and sat directly in front of him, "You're really lucky I haven't killed you... yet at least."
He stared at me angry fuming in his eyes.
Every one of was in the room except Ivan, Damien and Levi stood behind Vikor and Angelo stood behind me. I had no clue where Ivan left to, but I saw him this morning.
"Right, so you already probably know why you're here. Correct?" I said, my voice steady.
Vikor just gave me a death stare, which made me chuckle.
"Not much of a talker? Okay well let me tell you why you're here." I paused, "For almost five years now you've been attacking our businesses, bombing it, robbing it, kill our staff and steal from us. You mocked us, took pictures of where we lived, and attack our house. Why is that?" I asked.
"You killed Dimitri. It was by his orders to take you down no matter what happened, and I stuck to my fucking word." He admitted.
"That's cute." I mocked, "but if you may know, I never killed your friend, I don't give a fuck about him, nor you or anyone that associates with him. What I can say is that my father was the one that killed him, and surprisingly he was killed one year after Dimitri died. And I wonder why."
He looked almost shocked by the truth. I only took my father's power when he died, I was the only real son he'd have. Before he died I worked by his side.
"By the information I gave you, you're supposed to be dead already. But it has lead me to believe that... you don't work alone. Do you?" I questioned.
"I... I do... what are you talking about, of course I work alone." He stuttered.
"Oh come on, you think I'm going to believe that. You think I'm going to believe after all these years you worked alone." I said.
It was almost a joke.
"Here's what, if you tell me who else works for you, I'd let you run free. Not for long though, because if I find you, I'll kill you. So consider it as a game of hide and seek. You run free, but if I find you," I whispered the last part, "you're dead."
"So what do you say," I whispered, the tension clear in the dimly lit basement as Vikor stopped and thought about his answer. The air hung heavy with the weight of his decision, the shadows seemingly closing in around us as we stood on the precipice of a dangerous game of this or that.
"Come on Vikor, time is running out. I don't have all day." I said looking down at my watch.
I reached for my gun in my waistband, and he immediately started talking.
"Fine. Ronan Vladimir, the leader, he's the one in charge of everything, and Anton Pável, the co-leader, he makes sure everything goes out on time."
I looked at Levi who was typing something in his phone. Then said, "Ronan Vladimir, 56 years old, knew Dimitri for ten years, and Anton Pável, 58 years old, knew Dimitri for twelve years."
Smiling I got up from the chair.
"That wasn't so hard was it?" I asked.
Pulling my gun out my waistband is said, "It actually sucks that I lied."
I just realized that I've been spelling 'Viktor' and 'Dmitriy' names wrong the whole time.... But I'm too lazy to go change it so, yeah that sucks.
