AngelinaI don't know what time it was but the sun is shining brightly, the park seems empty, except one little boy I see standing in the middle of the playground.
Walking closer to him I realize he was crying.
"Hey. Are you alright?" I asked concerned, "where are your parents?"
Looking around the park, I saw no one, it was only me and this little boy. I rest my hand on his shoulders and when I did, he yelled, "Don't touch me bitch."
Woah. What's wrong with children these days, do their parents not teach them respect and how to watch their language.
"I'm just trying to help." I said shocked by his sudden outburst.
"I don't need your help. Remember what happened last time when you tried to help." And his voice changed when he said the last sentence, "You dumb blonde"
No. No. No. No.
The world suddenly crashed and the word 'no' just kept repeating in my head countless of times.
As I stood there, my heart racing, the weight of the boy's words echoing in my mind, I felt a chill run down my spine.
His sudden outburst and the mention of "last time" sent shivers through me. The park, once so serene, now felt eerie and unsettling. He turned to face me, with each breath, the realization sank in - he looked exactly like 'Him.' The same haunting eyes, the same hair... It was like a haunting déjà vu.
The world seemed to blur around me as I struggled to process this uncanny encounter. The heaviness in the air was suffocating, and my mind raced with fear.
I didn't waste another second, I started sprinting through the park, I didn't know where I was headed, but I ran for dear life.
This couldn't be real, it couldn't, it couldn't.
I turned around to look at him and I wished I hadn't, because it was him, it was really him, in his full form, standing tall, and I noticed he didn't move, he wasn't running.
Instead he just stood there smiling at me, less than five seconds had passed when suddenly,
Anya, Avelina.
They appeared at the side of him. Anya was holding crying Avelina in her hand.
Then he grabbed Avelina out of her arms, while she cried.
And I screamed. Loud, desperate and angry.
~~~
My eyes flew open and I was gasping for air, tears flowing down my cheeks, my heart pounding in my chest. The remnants of the nightmare clung to my thoughts, sending a chill down my spine. My breath came in short, rapid gasps, as if trying to escape the lingering terror of the dream. The room felt suffocating, the darkness pressing in on me as I tried to shake off the lingering fear.
Then, amidst the haze of fear, I heard Avelina crying, she wasn't only crying in the nightmare but she was crying now. The sound cut through the remnants of the nightmare, grounding me in reality.
I got up from my bed and with trembling hands, I reached out and picked her up, cradling her close to my chest.
"It's okay, it's okay, you're safe." I whispered to her.
Her cries softened into gentle whimpers as I held her, the warmth of her tiny body comforting me in the wake of the nightmare.
"I'll never let anyone hurt you." I say, remembering the nightmare.
In that moment, the nightmare faded into the background, replaced by the soothing presence of her in my arms.
