Angelina

I have no idea what has gotten into me, but somehow my legs are walking on it's on, my mind is going all over the place. And I'm downstairs.

When Nicolas told me to come down for breakfast, my initial thought was 'hell no' of course, why would I put myself in that situation.

But now I'm standing in front of them, shock plastered on all their faces, all except one, Nicolas was smiling, like he knew somehow I'd show up or maybe just maybe he did some kind manifestation on me, I don't know, I'm just saying.

"Good morning." Angelo said from the side of me.

We hadn't spoken since the night by the stairs and I feel some sort of regret for snapping on him.

"Good morning." I replied with a small smile.

The table went quiet when everyone started eating, I too started eating, which I wouldn't blame myself, since Vera didn't show yesterday, I hadn't eaten anything and my conversation with Nicolas made me lose my appetite anyway.

"Am, about that night, I'm sorry if I-"

"No, I'm sorry," I interrupted him, "I shouldn't have told you those things. I was just mad and didn't realize what I was saying."

Angelo's expression softened, and he met my gaze with understanding. "It's okay. Emotions can get the best of us sometimes, besides I know you wouldn't say stuff like that" he replied gently, his voice carrying a sense of forgiveness that eased the weight of my regret.

"Yeah... totally." I said sarcastically, and he smiled rolling his eyes.

We continued eating, whispering amongst ourselves.

As we chatted, I absentmindedly popped something into my mouth without looking at it. The taste hit me unexpectedly-strange and unfamiliar. I chewed and swallowed, dismissing it at first.

But then, a prickling sensation crept over my skin, setting off a wave of discomfort that made me pause, my heart racing with sudden unease.

As I looked down at my plate to see what I just ate, I saw a chuck of tomato and I immediately became sick.

I didn't know whether to laugh, because I knew they had something to do with this, or cry, because I knew I was going to die in a few minutes.

"Angelina are you okay?" Angelo ask suddenly concerned.

I looked at him annoyed.

"No, I am not okay. You wanna know why because you guys are trying to kill me." My voice became louder as I speak.

"What are you talking about?" I heard Nicolas say from the end of the table.

Oh. So we're going to pretend now.

"Oh, I don't fucking know. There's definitely not tomatoes in my breakfast, so you don't have to worry about that." I said pretending, because if he wanted to pretend I could pretend.

I was talking like I was alright, but in reality, I couldn't breathe. My throat was closing in and my breathing became frantic.

Before I knew it Nicolas was up on his feet, then I was up on my feet, before hitting the floor, hard.

Before I knew it, Nicolas sprang to his feet in a swift motion, his eyes wide with concern. Reacting instinctively, I found myself rising from my seat, a surge of adrenaline coursing through me. However, since air wasn't making its way to my lungs, the next moment sent me crashing to the ground with a resounding thud, the impact jolting through my body.

Someone was standing over me now, and I couldn't see who, there face was blurry.

Before I went unconscious, I felt a sharp pain in my leg.

And I thought this was the end.
