P.O.V Angelina
I had no idea what the hell I was doing, but as I said I'm just rolling with it.
I wasn't even supposed to sleep in Nicolas room yesterday, but I did, because I was literally petrified of what I would find if I went in mine. Not only that Nicolas left after he ran a shower for me, and I hadn't seen him for the whole day. He didn't even eat lunch or dinner, and I was contemplating on barging into his office to make him eat but I had a long thought about that, then decided it would be best if I didn't.
Last night I didn't expect Nicolas to come to bed, so when I heard the sound of a door opening, my eyes were opened. Then when he slipped in next to me it kind of caught me off guard, because I stayed up late waiting for him and half expected him to sleep in his office.
I woke up this morning to the bed empty, which I obviously knew would happen.
Nicolas mentioned having a lot of work to do, which totally threw me off since he was always glued to work before. He used to disappear to work all the time, so I was completely puzzled about this sudden change.
Descending the stairs, I caught the sight of Vera and Ivan perched on the couch, engaged in what seemed like a heated discussion. Their exchange halted as soon as they noticed me, Vera greeted me with a smile while Ivan averted his gaze.
His hand still had a bandage on it since the scissors incident, and it left me wondering how deep did I stab that thing.
"Good morning." Vera said as I approached them.
"Good morning," I replied, taking a seat beside her.
"I... I should probably go," she nervously mentioned as she stood up and made her way out the door, leaving me alone with Ivan.
What was her problem?
The sudden departure left an awkward silence hanging in the air, prompting me to exchange a quick glance at Ivan.
Then it hit me how long it had been since we had a proper conversation. The realization stung a bit, considering he was the first person I confided in within this hell house, the first person I talked to, willingly at least.
"Hey." Ivan said, my focus now on him.
"Oh. Hey." I responded nervously.
Then silence clouded the room, and it was clear that what we had before wasn't quite the same as before.
He sighed, "I'm sorry Angelina, for everything." His voice tinged with regret, "I really regret what I said and did. I never meant to hurt you or make you feel that way," he expressed, his words heavy with remorse and genuine concern in this situation.
"I knew Nicolas... liked you. It was pretty obvious from the start, but I didn't think he'd 'love you' at least that much. He was fucking crazy over you, I mean he is crazy over you." He admitted, "I expected you to be really mad that you were back here, but not that mad."
I immediately knew he was talking about his hand.
"But I'm sorry." He says after a second.
His apology hung in the air, and silence enveloped us.
I never knew he could be that serious. He's always cracking jokes, even when he accidentally cut his finger with a piece of glass, he still had a smile on his face.
"It's okay." I say softly, understanding.
Our eyes met, and Ivan's smile was contagious, prompting a smile to spread across my own face as well.
"So, are you going to apologize, for you know stabbing me." He says jokingly.
"Nah."
We both burst into laughter, "I'm just kidding, yes. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." I quickly add.
Of course I was going to apologize to him, I was going to do it, eventually. I just thought I should give him space, after all he probably wouldn't have wanted to talk to me.
But now, I realize that maybe he just needed someone there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I definitely did not take two hours to write this shitty chapter😞
