The sounds of an alarm system could be heard blaring as it comes to life.

"This is a warning ~this is a warning."

"We cannot afford to lose ~we cannot afford to lose."

"We have to give it our all ~we have to give it our all."

"If we fail ~if we fail."

"Tempest ~tempest."

"Our family ~our family."

"Our beloved ~our beloved."

"May never see the light again ~may never see the light again."

That alarm system that blared so loudly soon came to halt as it sounded off. One last click before it all began to fade to darkness and blazes...

* * *

I woke up in a near cold shiver. My body felt cold yet I could never feel it before. It felt like parts of my slime body were poking out as if I had goosebumps.

What was that dream?

It was me talking but to everyone... for what reason?

What happened to Tempest?

Was that just my imagination?

I thought it might be a bad dream but it would be more vivid than simply that yet it was just a cold, desperate voice that kept echoing in my head.

It was already fading away from my subconscious but I felt chills from it all.

Great Sage, can you bring that dream back?

...Great Sage?

She wasn't responsive.

That was strange...

Was something wrong?

"Hey Rimuru, ya' awake?"

I nearly got startled by the sudden voice.

It was Rah, it seems like he came to check up on me.

"You alright? Bad dream?"

"Yeah... something like that..."

"I see ya', well don't let those darkest dreams conquer you else... you know, they conquer you."

He seemed to slip up at the end, he really was aiming for something that rhymed.

"I see... thanks."

Rah left me to prepare for the coming day. I still had my main outfit on since there was no telling if a monster might attack us during the night. Thankfully nothing did, else I would've been woken up much earlier.

I used a bit of Cleansing Magic to clean myself up for the day.

Surprisingly, despite the name of Cleansing, it was more like a daily life utility sort of magic. It had spells like Wash, Ignite, and Blow. They had their obvious utilities and the magic was relatively easy to level. That was all there was to it though.

It had no offensive properties obviously but no other properties in general besides simply making ordinary laundry and cleaning much more easier. It was somewhat baffling how pointless the magic was after it reached max level.

"Ya' done yet Rimuru?"

"Yeah, I am."

I could think about this later.

<Notice. Operations have fully resumed.>

Oh? Did something happen?

<Answer. Unable to state.>
