Jamal and I were straight up panicking while the rest of our friends just rolled their eyes and laughed.
"Here we go again," Ruby said.
"Another Rollerworld delusion," Monse said.
"Monse, I'm this close to punching you," I said, "Now's not the time."
"No, no," Jamal said, pulling out his phone, "I have proof."
He pulled out his phone and showed us the camera footage, proving everyone wrong.
"Holy shit. Where did you find it?!"
"The green's real?"
"Rollerworld's real!"
"Wait," I said, looking at Jamal rolling in the money on his bed, "When was this?"
"Not important!" Jamal said, fast-forwarding, "Nothing to see here. Ok."
We fast-forwarded until we saw Jamal's parents, "My parents, who are completely disrespecting my privacy-
"And are about to get it in on your bed," Cesar said.
"They're not about to- uh oh. Oh no!"
"Ew!" I said, "We make out on that bed!"
"Yeah, and I do many other things on that bed!" Jamal said, horrified, "Oh non nonnonononooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"
We immediately got off of his bed and turned the video off. I felt absolutely disgusted.
"I simply cannot come over anymore," I said, "There's no way I'm gonna be able to say hello and look your parents in the eye after THAT!"
"Wait," Jamal said, "Why is she in my closet? MOM?!"

It turns out the gym bag that the money was in was gone. Jamal's mom donated it because she needed to get her end-of-the-year tax deductions in. Jamal wanted to go to Goodwill, but all of us said no. It was New Year's in Freeridge, so everyone was drunk driving, and no one was hitting up the Goodwill at one am anyway.
"You all suck, and I hate you!" Jamal said, "See you tomorrow morning?"
I sighed and patted his shoulder, "Come on, AJ. Goodwill?"
"N-o. No," I said, "Look, I'm as pressed about this as you are. But there's no point in going right now. It's literally closed. We'll just go first thing in the morning. Ok?"
"But-
I grabbed his chin and looked at him, "OK?"
He nodded, "OK. Are you staying over tonight?"
"Yeah, but first, we're gonna have to change these sheets," I said, cringing as I looked over at the bed and the blanket on the floor.
"Ditto."
After we changed the sheets and put them in the laundry, we went to bed.

The next morning, we all met up except for Ruby, who said he couldn't make it.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Ruby canceled on us after making us wait until morning."
"He didn't make us wait. We just didn't wanna die," Monse said.
"Potato, potato," Jamal said, "Of course, you'd take his side. Whatever. I'm finding my loot and my mom said it's in the blue bin."
We arrived at Goodwill.
"Bingo, bitches! There it is!"
"Which one?" I said, looking at the row of blue bins.
