On their way to the next gym and Riley's next badge, our heroes find themselves passing through a beautiful national park.
Riley: Hmm. Riley was looking at his badge enamored by it.
Jimmy: Careful. If you stare at it any harder, you'll burn a hole through it.
Riley: I know. I'm just still amazed I managed to win this badge.
Marina: Hey, you earned it. After all, you and Sneasel gave it 110%.
Karen: Look up ahead. Karen points out to some kind of event.
Riley: Let's go check this out! Soon, our heroes reach the site of the festivities.
Contest Employee: Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! There's not much time left! The Bug Pokémon Catching Contest is about to begin! Come one, come all! Sign up now at the registration tent!
Riley: Does the winner get some kind of prize?
Contest employee: Sure! They get a Sun Stone, and keep whatever Bug Pokémon they catch.
Jimmy: Cool!
Marina: You were always a sucker for Bugs.
Riley: So am I! Just wait! I'm gonna win this contest and a brand new Pokémon! Our heroes soon prepare to get in line. That must be the sign up line.
As our heroes prepare to get in line, a familiar Chikorita hears and spots them.
Marina: Looks like you're gonna have a lot of competition.
As our heroes talk, the trainer of the Chikorita looks back and spots them. It's none other than the Electabuzz super fan, Casey.
Casey: I can't believe it! She rushes up to our heroes. Hi, guys!
Jimmy: Casey!
Riley: What's up?
Karen: You three know this girl?
Marina: Sure do. She's a childhood friend of Riley's and she's our neighbor.
Casey: If I know you, Riley, I bet you're gonna sign up and try to win a new bug Pokémon. So am I.
Marina: I see your Chikorita's looking good.
Casey: Since the last time I saw you, we've been on a winning streak, just like my favorite baseball team, the good ol' Electabuzz!
Karen: I'm guessing you're a big fan.
Casey: I sure am! I'll even sing you their new fight song for this season. 🎶 Let's all cheer Electabuzz, greatest team of all! 🎶 The players charge the field and Double Team the ball! 🎵 They're the crew with Mega Punch when they're in a crunch! 🎵 Metronome! Safe at home! Hyper Beam, too! 🎶 Win! Win! Through thick and thin! 🎶 Electa-buzz it's you!🎵 YAAYY hehehe!!
Karen: She's a real diehard fan, isn't she?💧
Marina: Her families just as bad.💧
Casey: The Electabuzz are riding their winning streak just like I'm riding my winning streak to win myself a new bug Pokemon!
Riley: You won't beat me!
Casey: With that attitude, we'll all try harder and I'll look better when I win! And I'm gonna do my best to win this contest for the Electabuzz!
Riley: Good! I'm gonna do my best to win too!
Marina: That's nice, but you might wanna register first.
Riley: Right!
Casey: I'll race you!
Riley and Casey rush to do so. Meanwhile, three familiar someone's are barred from entering the contest.
