As our heroes make their way to the next Gym, they must first cut through a dense forest.

Riley: So, we have to cut through this forest to get to the next town?

Karen: That's right. I'm not complaining, though. This forest is even more dense than the one you guys met me in.

Marina: Of course you'd like that.💧

Jimmy: Says here it's called the Illex Forest. We should be fine as long as we stay on the path, but if we wander, we might just get lost.

Karen: No big. I'm sure we'll be fine. She said matter of factly.

Marina: I wish I was that confident.

Riley: Let's just go in and see.

They enter the forest and were in awe by how dark and beautiful it was.

Karen: Ah, this is nice. Just felt that cool air hitting us.

Marina: I'll admit, it is pretty nice.

Jimmy: Bet there's all kinds of Pokémon living here.

Riley: I hope I can catch a few. Suddenly, something came out of the bushes and tackled Riley. Ah! The boy fell the ground.

Marina: Riley!

Jimmy: What happened?!

The Pokémon that attacked Riley made itself visible to the group.

Riley: What's that?

Riley: What's that?

Pokédex: Espeon, the Sun Pokémon. It uses the fine hair that covers its body to sense air currents and predict its enemy's actions.

Karen: Espeon's the evolved form of Eevee. Kinda rare to find one in the wild.

Riley: Cool! A Psychic type. Riley gets up and looks to the left then the right. Nothing over there. Or there.

Jimmy: What are you doing?

Riley: Making sure this Espeon doesn't have a trainer. Cyndaquil, let's go! Cyndaquil materializes.

Cyndaquil: Quil!

Riley: Cyndaquil, use Quick Attack! Cyndaquil dashes toward Espeon, who dodged the attack.

Espeon then fires a rainbow colored beam from the gem on its forehead, hitting Cyndaquil.

Riley: Cyndaquil!

Karen: That was Psybeam. This Espeon is certainly high level.

Riley: Then I wanna catch it even more. Cyndaquil, Ember! Cyndaquil fires, but Espeon counters by using Swift. Follow it up with Flame Wheel! Cyndaquil charges at Espeon and launches it into a tree. Okay, now's the time. Go, Pokéball!

Riley throws the Pokéball at Espeon. The ball hits it and then absorbs it in. The Pokéball wobbles a bit as Riley held his breath. Unfortunately, Espeon breaks out of the Pokéball and smacks the ball back at Riley then runs off.
