Jimmy: Look, you guys!

Riley: We're finally here!

Pichu: Pichu! (We made it)

Marina: I can't believe it.

At long last, our heroes have arrived at Ecruteak City, home of the fourth Johto League gym.

Riley: The Ecruteak City gym should be pretty close by.

Jimmy: Cool! C'mon, Riley! Let's go!

Riley: Right behind ya! They both run ahead.

Marina: I don't blame Riley for being excited.

Karen: His fourth Johto badge is just a couple matches away.

Riley: Oh! That reminds me, I have to stop by some place real quick.

Marina: This place is a lot older than when I last came here. But it still has that certain charm to it.

Karen: Of course. Ecruteak City is deep in history and tradition.

Suddenly, a blast of fire stops them in their tracks.

???: I'm just the guy yo're lookin' for.

Marina: Who are you?

???: I'm Infernando, the fire-breathing clown and street performer extraordinaire.
Infernando demonstrates his talent. I summize that you lot are visitors to our town.

Riley: How could you tell that?

Infernando: Well, if you lived here, you wouldn't be carrying that guidebook.
Infernando demonstrates his talent again, causing our heroes to duck.

Marina: Hey, cool it with the fire, will ya?

Infernando: Let me show you something you ain't gonna find in no guidebook. Infernando brings out a strange machine. It's the last one I've got left.

Karen: (chuckles) I should've figured you were some kind of salesman.

Jimmy: What is that thing?

Infernando: Exactly, only modified. This here's a treasure detector. Ecruteak's an ancient city, and there are all kinds of historical junk buried subcontaineously. All you gotta do is grab these rods and walk around until you hear the beep, which means you're standing directly over something that's valuable!

Riley: Really?

Infernando: Cross my heart and hope to... Hey! Why don't you buy em and try em yourself, kid?

Marina: This sounds like a ripoff to me. Marina grabs Riley by his collar, so he doesn't get swindled.

Riley: Oh, yeah. Gotta get to the Tower, first.

Infernando: The tower? That's what I forgot! The gym's the perfect place to use the treasure detector, it's built on the oldest spot in the whole city! How about a demonstration?

Jimmy: Sorry. Maybe some other time. He said before leaving.

Infernando: Come and see after you're through at the tower, folks!

Meanwhile, at the fountain in the park, Team Rocket sits.

Meowth: We trailed them twoips all the way here and then lost them.

Jessie: How are we ever gonna steal that Pikachu if we don't know where they are?

James: (chuckles)

Jessie: What are you laughing about, James?

James: You've obviously overlooked the obvious. If experience taught us anything about those kids, we know the first place they're going to stop, is at the Johto League gym!
