Well, it's been a long time coming, but Riley and his friends have finally reached the next crucial stop on the road to the Johto League!
Our heroes gasp in excitement.
Riley: Look there! It's Goldenrod City!
Cyndaquil: Cyndaquil. (We're almost there) Our heroes soon enter Goldenrod City.
Riley: This place is huge!
Cyndaquil: Cyn! (Yeah)
Marina: And so are the savings during the store's semi-annual super sale!
Snubbull: Snub Snub!
Riley: Hey, we gotta go.
Jimmy: I know what you mean. We gotta check out the best restaurants here.
Riley: (annoyed) No, we gotta go. Jimmy and Marina are soon seen drooling over hamburgers at the burger stand.
Marina: Can you guess what I'm thinking about, Jimmy?
Jimmy: Yeah, and if you're thinking what I'm thinking...then we're both thinking about...
Marina and Jimmy: A hamburger!!!
Karen: I'll take mine with extra onions. Riley chuckles but frowns as he realizes something's amiss.
Riley: That can wait! We gotta go!
Everyone: Huh?
Riley: (stubbornly) We didn't come here to shop and eat burgers!
Marina: I know! Aren't we lucky?
Jimmy: Yeah, the burgers here look as delicious as they smell!
Riley: But, we came here so I can win a gym badge!
Cyndaquil: Cynda! (Yeah) Riley and Cyndaquil run on ahead.
Marina: Wait, Riley! Marina and Karen run after him.
Jimmy: Riley has a point. Gym badges come before lunch.
Soon, our heroes arrive at the Goldenrod City gym.
Riley: It's closed?! No!
Cyndaquil: Quil. (Oh, man)
Marina: Alright! That means today we can go to all the big department stores!
Jimmy: And I can chow down around the best restaurants.
Riley: Since it's closed, maybe we can find some place to hang out and come back to tomorrow!
Karen: Great idea, Riley. Everyone rushes off.
Marina: I know the perfect place: the Goldenrod Galleria! It's just a few blocks away and it should be easy to get to. She says looking at the building through binoculars.
Karen: Although, it feels like we haven't gotten any closer.
Riley: This city is massive. Every street we take is a dead end and we always end up in back alleys.
Jimmy: Well, I've been here before, but I kinda needed directions then too.
Cyndaquil: Cyn? Cyndaquil runs off.
Riley: Cyndaquil! Where are you going?
Marina: Looks like Cyndaquil is onto something. Cyndaquil runs ahead of the group as they follow it. Slow down, Cyndaquil.
Suddenly, Cyndaquil bumps into a Clefairy, surprising our heroes.
