letter. hanzo is, without a doubt, a loyal and dependable friend. he's always been a supportive presence to his sister, nao, and to their close circle of friends, but his bond with y/n is something special.

hanzo was the one who persuaded y/n to stay in japan and relocate to miyagi, just so they could be together again. this gesture alone speaks volumes about how much he cares for her.

to everyone else, their friendship seems purely platonic, but hanzo has harbored deep feelings for the girl since they were children.

he has never revealed this to anyone, not even to nao, fearing that a confession might ruin their friendship.

however, when he discovered that y/n had developed feelings for someone else, a pang of jealousy stirred within him.

this new and unsettling emotion made him realize how terrified he was at the prospect of y/n being in a relationship with someone other than him.

yet, feeling contented to the role of just a friend, he felt powerless to change the situation.

in his desperation, he came up with a plan to prevent her from pursuing this new interest.

he knew it was a foolish and potentially hurtful scheme, but he convinced himself it was the only way to keep y/n from drifting away from her friends.

late one night, as hanzo sat at the dining table scribbling on a piece of paper, nao walked in and caught him in the act. "what are you doing?" she asked, peering over his shoulder.

hanzo quickly covered the paper with his hand. "nothing, just homework." he lied. nao raised an eyebrow. "homework with hearts on it? are you writing a love letter?" she gasped dramatically, making hanzo blush and stammer in denial.

"no, of course not!" he said defensively. nao, however, wasn't convinced. she swiftly snatched the paper from his grip before he could react. hanzo sighed and let her read it.

"dear kindaichi, i've been admiring you from afar. i like you. meet me on the rooftop at lunch. from, your secret admirer."

nao's eyes widened as she processed the words. "oh my gosh— i knew you were gay!" she exclaimed, covering her mouth in shock.

now thoroughly flustered, the male shook his head. "what!? no, i'm not. it's not for me. i'm writing it for y/n." he lied again, his voice wavering.

nao seemed to buy the explanation. she nodded thoughtfully and sat down beside him. "oh, she asked you to write this because she's too shy, huh?" she speculated, oblivious to her brother's true intentions.

he gulped, feeling a pang of guilt. "yeah... something like that." he muttered.

the truth was, he hoped that kindaichi would reject y/n, believing it would keep her close to him. nao, however, remained unaware of his hidden motives.

"that's an odd but sweet idea." she said, tilting her head in confusion.

hanzo forced a smile, hiding the turmoil inside. "yeah, i just want her to be happy." he said, his voice barely above a whisper, knowing that his actions might lead to anything but.

the next morning, kunimi was glued to his phone before the first period started. he always hated how chaotic his classroom was in the early morning. all he could do was sit and wait for the teacher to arrive.

just as he was considering plugging in his earphones, someone from another class entered the room.

"hey, kindaichi! you got delivery!" called out hanzo, a guy kunimi had seen around the halls but never bothered to know.

kindaichi approached hanzo, and kunimi couldn't help but observe the exchange. he noticed hanzo handing kindaichi an envelope, which piqued his curiosity.

after hanzo left, kindaichi turned to kunimi with a face as red as a tomato.

before he could react, kindaichi rushed over, nearly tripping on a chair. "do you think this is a love letter?" he mumbled, eyes wide with panic.

kunimi snorted, "open it to find out, genius." he half-expected it to be some prank, maybe a fake letter, but when kindaichi opened it, his eyes bulged out like a cartoon character.

now thoroughly intrigued, kunimi snatched the letter from him. as he read it, his eyes widened too, and he and kindaichi exchanged shocked glances.

"holy shi—" kindaichi began, but kunimi quickly slapped a hand over his mouth. "shut up!" he hissed, glancing around to make sure no one else had noticed the commotion.

kindaichi's muffled protests were ignored as he scanned the letter again. "meet me on the rooftop at lunch. from, your secret admirer." he read aloud in a whisper, shaking his head in disbelief.

"you think this is real?" kindaichi whispered back, eyes still wide. "well, it's either real or that dude from class 2 has a weird sense of humor. either way, you're going to the rooftop at lunch."

kindaichi gulped, "what if it's a trap?" kunimi smirked. "then you'll find out the hard way. but hey, maybe you'll get a corny and cliché love story out of this."

his friend's face turned even redder, and he looked like he might faint. he chuckled, patting his friend on the back.

"relax, man. worst case, you get some fresh air. best case, you meet your secret admirer. either way, it's better than sitting in this chaos, right?"

he nodded slowly, still looking like a deer in headlights. kunimi leaned back in his chair, amused by the turn of events.

"can you at least come with me?" kindaichi pleaded, his hands together in a desperate begging gesture. kunimi looked up from his phone, "no, why would i? it's your confession."

kindaichi shook his head frantically. "i don't even know who this girl is! i might reject her, but i don't want it to be awkward!"

"so, let me get this straight—you want me to tag along while you potentially break some poor girl's heart?" kunimi sighed, rolling his eyes.

he nodded eagerly, completely missing the sarcasm. "exactly! you always know what to say, and if it gets weird, you can step in."

kunimi groaned, rubbing his temples. "fine, but you owe me for this. big time." kindaichi's face lit up with relief. "deal! i'll buy you lunch for a week!"

"make it two, and you've got yourself a deal." kindaichi hesitated for a second before nodding. "okay, two weeks."

"alright then. but remember, if she's a ghost or something, i'm out." kindaichi gulped, suddenly looking nervous again. "ghosts aren't real, right...?"

he shrugged, patting his friend on the back. "guess we'll find out soon enough."
