humiliating. friendship always came second to y/n, but she cherished her friends deeply, always listening intently to what they had to say.

however, she could be a bit sensitive. when kenma messaged her with a slightly distant tone or when she worried about being annoying, she would sometimes tear up and then avoid talking to him until he noticed and apologized.

y/n hated this habit and was determined to get rid of it.

when the bell rang for lunch and the class began packing up, hanzo started the conversation, "do you guys want to eat on the rooftop today?" he pulled out his bento, and y/n's eyes lit up.

"sure!" she exclaimed. nao sighed and waved her hand dismissively. "no thanks, i hate eating outside. i don't like my food to get cold."

y/n frowned, "you're always like this, nao!" the other girl chuckled, "you two go ahead. i'm pretty sure you can chew without me."

hanzo rolled his eyes. "come on, y/n. let's go enjoy our cold food in peace." she laughed, following hanzo. "fine, but you owe me a warm meal next time, nao!"

as the duo made their way to the rooftop, the bustling noise of their classmates faded into the background.

y/n's footsteps were lighter, but her mood was a bit heavy. hanzo, perceptive as ever, picked up on her behavior. "you okay?" he asked, glancing sideways at her.

she immediately put on a bright smile, though her eyes betrayed her concern. "yup, i'm just kind of worried about nao. she seems kind of... bothered."

the male nodded thoughtfully, his brow furrowing slightly. "don't worry too much about her. she's fine." he reassured her.

y/n bit her lip, her worries still bubbling beneath the surface. "i know, but she's been acting off lately. maybe it's the math test results. that stuff would make anyone grumpy."

hanzo chuckled, the sound echoing lightly off the walls. "or maybe she's just avoiding out rooftop lunch invites because she secretly hates fresh air."

she laughed, the sound more genuine this time, shaking her head. "you might be onto something. maybe i'll start bribing her with dessert. chocolate fixes everything, right?"

they reached the door leading to the rooftop, and hanzo pushed it open, holding it for y/n.

the rooftop was a favorite spot for students, offering a peaceful escape from the crowded hallways and a stunning view of the city skyline. but today, it was unusually empty and quiet.

the summer sun was warm, and a gentle breeze rustled their hair. as they settled down on a bench, hanzo unpacked his bento, arranged with an array of colorful dishes.
