─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───surprise. keeping little secrets from family is pretty standard when you're a teenager, right? whether it's hiding your finsta, sneaking out, or even keeping relationships under wraps, it's all part of the rebellious teen experience.
but for y/n, that wasn't the case when she lived with her family. it wasn't because her parents were strict, they actually weren't.
but as the eldest daughter, she felt the weight of being the role model, the perfect big sister that everyone looked up to. fun with friends? hanging out? those were luxuries she couldn't afford.
now that she was living on her own, things had changed. she had a bit more freedom-though she wasn't going wild or anything. she still focused on her studies, kept her life balanced.
but there was one thing she'd kept from her parents, her part-time job. it wasn't even a big deal, and she didn't really know why she hadn't mentioned it.
maybe it was just nice to have something that was hers alone, a little secret to hold onto.
it had been three weeks since she started working at kunimi ramen, and the routine had settled in-lots of bickering with kunimi, which had oddly become something she looked forward to.
they ignored each other at school, acting like strangers, but as soon as they clocked in, it was like two cats who couldn't get along.
today, though, was different. the restaurant was closed because the owners, kunimi's parents, had some errands to run, giving her a rare day off.
with nao stuck at school for club activities, y/n decided to take advantage of her free time and go somewhere fun by herself.
"see you tomorrow, nao!" she called out, waving to her friend as she slipped on her outdoor shoes. "see ya!"
as she stepped outside, something caught her eye-two familiar faces standing by the school gate, surrounded by curious students.
"no way..." y/n's eyes widened in disbelief before a huge grin spread across her face. without a second thought, she sprinted towards them.
"oh my gosh!" she shouted, throwing her arms around the two boys in a big, warm hug. it was kenma and kuroo-her friends from tokyo. she had missed them so much.
kenma and kuroo were startled by her sudden, energetic hug, kuroo quickly hugged her back while kenma took a moment to process what had just happened. but once he did, a small smile crept onto his face.
"surprise!" kuroo exclaimed as they pulled away from the group hug. the girl grinned, playfully smacking him on the arm. "you guys didn't tell me you were coming to visit!" she said.
kuroo chuckled, rubbing his arm dramatically. "well, where's the fun in that?" kenma nodded, still smiling warmly at her. "we wanted to catch you off guard. looks like it worked."
