The day didn't get much better for Jimin, he had forgotten his umbrella and a flash rainfall had happened leaving him soaked.
Earlier, he was a bit late to one of his lectures as he had looked at the wrong part of his timetable and he walked in on a very surprised Human Anatomy Lecturer while out of breath from running from another department.
He had stubbed his toe, twice.
He was done. He just wanted to go home.
Messaging friends that he had in the classes that were scheduled for the day that he was going to be away and if he could copy their notes later, Jimin decided that he was going to go home.
Except, he seems to have lost his bus card and he had just loaded that with money.
"Oh, Fuck, My, LIFE!" he growled loudly, shocking anyone around him.
He really wanted to cry now. He was tired and he was frustrated.
"Hey, you okay?" a deep voice asked him.
Jimin looked up to see the same guy who was standing in front of him by the café now looking at him with concern.
"I'm, just having a really bad day," Jimin said, "Sorry, thanks for asking,"
"Wanna go for a coffee? My treat,"
"I, I just want to go home,"
"Where do you live?"
"About a thirty minute bus ride from here, guess I'll walk,"
"I can drive you,"
"Why? You don't know me, thanks for the offer though,"
"No, I don't know you, but, you just seem like you really need something to go right today, plus, I feel bad for taking your cheesecake,"
"I....," but Jimin's phone rang, "Sorry, Hello? Oh, what? What do you mean? I, when will it be fixed? What do I do? I'll swing by and get my things, I...hello? DAMMIT!"
"Not good News?"
Jimin turned and looked at the taller guy with glossy eyes, "It's really not my day at all," he sniffed, "Um, tmi, but it seems that my apartment has sprung a leak and they need to fix it, the water damaged some parts of my kitchen and living room, so, yeah, I need to pack up for a bit as they fix it,"
"Oh, do you have a place to stay?"
"I'll get a hotel or something, my best friend just recently met his soul mate, so I don't want to intrude in their space as they're just getting to know each other,"
"If I promise you that I'm not a creep, you can come and stay with me,"
"I, who are you?"
"I'm Taehyung Kim,"
"Oh, okay, I'm Jimin Park, final year dance and physiotherapy major,"
"Nice, I'm final year of a law degree focusing on business but also looking at family and medical law,"
Jimin just gave him a small smile.
"Hey, shall we? My car is just over there and I can drive you to get your things and you can assess the damage and get changed,"
"Thank you, I appreciate it."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The drive back wasn't too bad. Jimin found out that Taehyung loved music and dance, but wanted to be a lawyer to help people in need.
And he found out that Taehyung hadn't found his soul mate yet either.
"Nah, I can't wait to meet them, though," Taehyung said.
"Any preference?" Jimin asked.
"I mean, a soul mate is a person meant for us, no? They complete us, so, I don't see the point in saying a preference really, I know I will just love the person,"
"Fair,"
"You find your soul mate yet?"
"No, I've been so busy that I haven't really looked, which leads me to my predicament,"
"Oh?"
"I told my Aunt that I have someone in my life, I was just so tired of her always flaunting her life as if she's better than my family, especially my Mom, so I said I have someone, now I need to figure out what to do,"
"You could hire someone?"
"Yeah, won't work, she knows a lot of the hirable bachelors,"
"Oh, okay,"
"I need someone who is okay to do it with me, even if it's for a month or so, just to keep pretenses,"
"Would you pay?"
"I mean, if it was my friend, I'd kick their ass for making me pay them, as for someone, yeah, probably,"
"Sooooo, how much would you offer?"
"Why, you interested?"
"Kinda looking for help in the financial department,"
"Oh?"
"I'm a poor student, for lack of better word, and I work to pay my accommodation and loans and such, but, I could always use extra money,"
"Soooo, you're willing to help me with my problem?"
"Yeah,"
"Okay, I, what if I offer you, say, 1'000'000 won, could always get more if you have to help me longer, but for now, I need you for about a month,"
"You're offering THAT MUCH!?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I, where do I sign!?"
"Park here," Jimin said as he chuckled a bit at Taehyung's reaction.
"You live here?"
"Yes,"
"Holy Shit, you're like, rich, rich then, no way does a student afford this type of place,"
"I rent from my parents, but yeah, I guess you're right,"
"Right, sorry, just, um, would you like some help?"
"Sure,"
The two walked up to Jimin's apartment so that he could assess the damage, and sure enough, there was his mother looking over the damage with the building manager and repairman.
"Eomma?" Jimin started.
