It had been a week now since Jimin and Taehyung had moved into each other's apartments.
Jimin had moved half of his things into Taehyung's apartment and in turn, Taehyung moved half of his stuff into Jimin's apartment.
"It was fair," Jimin had said to him with a smile when they were done.
Though, truth be told, if anyone were to ask Jimin which apartment he wanted to stay in, he'd tell you that he enjoyed being in Taehyung's place more.
It just had a homier feel to it. And Jimin liked, no, he loved it.
And if they were really to be asked about their full honest opinion, the majority of the time these days, the two seemed to have forgotten that this was supposed to be just for pretend.
Well, they forgot about it until Jungkook reminded them about it.
"You know, you two moved pretty fast, you sure you aren't soulmates or at least boyfriends?" Jungkook asked one day.
"What do you mean?" Jimin asked as he was currently lying on Taehyung, his head relaxing on the other's chest as he perked his head up a little to look at Jungkook.
"Well, for one, you're leaning on him like that," Jungkook said.
"He's comfy and he smells really good, like, relaxing and home type of good,"
"Ah, ha, and you moved half your stuff into his apartment and he moved half his stuff into yours,"
"OK, and?"
"That's essentially the closet test for couples to see how equal they see each other before they decide whose home they'd rather be in,"
"And where did you learn that?"
"From that British psychologist guy on that US Crime TV show, the one with the Bone Lady,"
"Bro, it's a TV Show,"
"So? It has a point,"
"And that is,"
"Well, you two are moving on as a couple, you guys plan to become real at some point? You already there? What's going on?"
Yes, Jungkook, Hoseok, and Yoongi all knew that Jimin and Taehyung were fake dating, the pair decided that it was best to be truthful about it to their friends at least.
"We haven't thought about it let alone talked about it," Jimin said as he put his head back on Taehyung's chest as the other rubbed his back a bit to make him relax.
"We'll talk about it another day," was all Taehyung said as he looked at Jungkook who raised an eyebrow at him.
But no one could say anything more as Jungkook's phone rang. He took it out and smiled brightly when he saw who it was before he answered.
"I have never seen you smile that much let alone answer a damn text message so fast...unless it's Taehyung or Yoongi telling you they're about to get food," Jimin teased.
"Shut up," Jungkook said shyly as he hit send.
"You know, we should really meet your soulmate one day," Jimin said.
"Yeah, you should, he's really cool, handsome, kind, and he cooks great food, allergic to garlic though,"
"Is he a vampire?" Taehyung asked in jest.
"Maybe," Jungkook laughed, "Hey, we're all free tomorrow, right? Why don't we do a movie night here? I'll invite Hobi-Hyung and Yoon-Yoon, too,"
"Yoon-Yoon? How'd you get away with that?" Jimin asked.
"Yoongi-Hyung NEVER scolds me,"
"WHAT? WHY? If I did that, I'd get a punch in the arm, that's it, Tae-Tae, your friend hates me," Jimin fake cried as he buried his nose into Taehyung's chest as Taehyung laughed at him.
"You two argue like a married couple, it's a wonder you two didn't end up together," he said but held Jimin tight as he did. Not that Jimin questioned it. He liked the hugs and tight holds.
Jungkook just laughed as he looked at his phone again, "Cool, Jin said he's cool with hanging out today, seems that the company doesn't need him for much, although, he did mention something about being stressed about some land that his family wants to get but they can't get access to it, not that he seems too bothered by it, anyway, Hobi-Hyung and Yoon-Yoon are coming, too, they just messaged,"
"I saw....I'm going to have to order the food again, aren't I?" Jimin stated.
"Yep, I gotta take advantage of having you as a rich friend," Jungkook joked.
"You're rich, too,"
"I'm playing the Maknae Card, then, plus, you're actually rich, rich, I'm upper-middle class if you look at it, so, bleh,"
"Fine, fine, I'll order us all some food,"
"Jin can't have garlic, though, like, seriously, he does actually have an allergy to it, which sucks,"
"I'll make sure to order stuff without garlic, then,"
"Thank you,"
"Oh, I," Taehyung started.
"I know, you don't like peas and you can't eat spicy," Jimin finished as he sat up, pecked the tip of Taehyung's nose, and then ordered the various foods he knew everyone would like.
"Yeah, not dating or in love with him, my ass," Jungkook muttered under his breath so that the pair didn't hear him.
It wasn't long before the bell rung as Jungkook stood up, "Oh, um, Jin doesn't know about you two fake dating, I made sure not to tell anyone, Friendship Circle of Silence," he said as he looked at the two.
"Thanks," Jimin said as Taehyung nodded a 'thank-you' at him.
Jungkook was heard opening the door and if smiles could be heard, which Taehyung felt like he could, Jungkook's smile was heard coming from the front door.
"Hey," Jungkook said as he was heard opening the door and pecking his soulmate's lips, "Thanks for coming,"
"I'm glad I could, I've always wanted to meet your friends," a man's voice was heard.
"Well, today you will, I promise that they're nice,"
As Jungkook was heard hanging up Jin's coat and walking towards the living room, Jimin and Taehyung stood up to greet the newcomer.
"So, guys, this is my soulmate and boyfriend Kim Seokjin, or Jin," Jungkook said with a smile as Jimin smiled, greeted Jin with a polite bow as he shook the other's hand.
Taehyung, on the other hand, froze as he saw who it was that was standing in front of him.
He recognized him, but judging by the way the older man looked at him with no reaction, the older didn't know who he was at all.
But Taehyung remembered him, he remembered that face that had only set eyes on him once when they were younger on the farm, he had come with the family to visit, but just for a moment.
His Grandmother had always told Taehyung the truth about his family, he knew his Jin-Hyung when he saw him;
But he remembered that his mother always lied about who he was to his brothers, just calling him 'That Orphaned Farm Boy.'
That hurt once he understood why she called him that never went away since.
But yes, he grew up seeing the pictures of his older brothers beaming with pride as they stood next to their parents who looked at them with even so much love and pride.
A look that Taehyung had often wished he could see from them but knew he never would.
Why they even gave a damn about him was beyond him. Why they bothered to be somewhat present, even if it's to berate his decisions, was also beyond him. No matter how much he thought about the why, the answer would never come and he would just forever be unsure of the why of it all.
'Maybe it's for the best,' Taehyung thought to himself as he shook himself out of his revere as he caught Jin staring at him, "H...Hi, I'm Tae, Taehyung, Kim Taehyung," he stuttered as he bowed as well.
"Do I know you?" Jin asked.
