Dinner was mostly a general feel affair.
Taehyung felt at home with the Parks, more than he ever did back home. That made him feel a little sad, but watching Jimin and his family interact and laugh at almost everything together was delightful.
He looked at the food and smiled at how homey it tasted and yet had an exquisite air to it....maybe it was because he was a poor student in reality and he appreciated good things.
"So, Taehyung, tell us about growing up, where are you from?" Mr. Park asked.
"Well, my family are from Daegu, I have two older brothers," Taehyung answered.
"Oh, and which family are you?"
"The Kims, uh, from South Daegu,"
"Are you the son of the Famers Industrials Kims?"
"Yes, Kim Daegu Co. and Ltd, specializing in Farming tools and equipment, a bit of a tycoon company now, my family don't even farm,"
"Have you?"
"Yes, with my late grandmother, she, uh, she was the best, I grew up with her and I guess that's why I appreciate things the way I do,"
"I wasn't aware that the Kims had a third son,"
"They don't talk about me much,"
"Oh, well, we won't pry more into the why,"
Jimin reached out and put a comforting hand on Taehyung's and gave him a sad but supportive smile.
"Well, as Jimin said, their loss, I will live and do my best,"
"You with Jimin because he has money?" Jimin's brother asked.
"OI!" Jimin started.
"It's a fair question, Chim," Taehyung said, "And no, I am not, I honestly didn't even know who he was or that he was wealthy, I just thought he was hot and I wanted to make his day better,"
"And hook up?"
"That too,"
"Have you two?"
"OK! Enough of that, I am not talking about my personal life even if you are family, our, uh, bedroom activities are none of your business," Jimin yelped making everyone chuckle around him.
"For a flirt, you sure are shy," his brother laughed at him as he went back to eating before his mother made him eat.
"The food is amazing," Taehyung said, as he looked at Mrs. Park with a smile, "Thank you,"
"You're welcome,"
The group kept talking and getting to know each other more.
The Parks were enamored with Taehyung. During dessert, a lovely souffle, they somehow got into the topic of dance and entertainment. This was when Taehyung learnt that Jimin wanted to perform with the National Ballet of Korea after military service.
"You don't want to go after a few years?" Taehyung asked.
"I can't anyway because of my age," Jimin started, "I figured that it'd be best to enter the military straight after this, get my time done, and then I'll be free, it'll be harder of course as I'll be older than most applying to perform, but, I think I can do it,"
"I believe that you can, you're a beautiful dancer,"
Jimin blushed at that.
"When do you plan to serve?" Jimin asked.
"Probably at Twenty-eight," Taehyung said, "For me, it'll take time to get things set up and started, so, I want to do that first, and then when I'm sure things will be okay, I will head off for service,"
"You could always go straight after schooling, although, that'd be next year,"
"I suppose,"
"Time flies when you're there,"
"You and Jimin can go together," Jimin's brother said.
"I'm already planning to enlist with Jungkook," Jimin said, "That's if he can tear himself away from his soulmate,"
Everyone gave a small laugh at that.
Suddenly the clock struck and chimes echoed around the house, the group realized that they had been talking for a while.
"Taehyung, Jimin, you two can stay here tonight," Mrs. Park said.
"But, what about," Jimin started.
"It's OK, I have a day off tomorrow and I can drive you to where you need to be," Taehyung said.
"Date Day?" Jimin asked
"Yeah, just tell me what you wanna do,"
"You need to study?"
"Nah, I'm good, I already ahead, so, yeah,"
"OK,"
"Get a room," Jimin's brother said as he pretended to gag.
"Oh, we will, his," Taehyung said as he scooped Jimin into his arms, making the other yelp, "So, my darling, point me towards your room,"
"No Funny Stuff!" Mrs Park said.
"MOM!?!?" Jimin yelped as Taehyung laughed and carried him up the stairs.
