At breakfast the following morning, Taehyung and the Parks were happily eating breakfast as the conversation was light before it moved to the topic of soulmates.
"So, Taehyung, if you and Jimin aren't soulmates, what are you both gonna do if you find your soulmate?" Jimin's brothers asked.
Jimin glared at his brother as Taehyung gave a small sad chuckle that Mrs. Park picked up on but chose to say nothing about for now.
"I don't know, your soulmate is supposed to be someone you end up spending the rest of your life with, someone who gets you and knows you, right?" Taehyung answered, "But then, if I love someone else, I don't know, we haven't talked or thought about it, we just like each other's company,"
"Not all soulmates end up together, and not all soulmates are necessarily romantic," Mr. Park said as he finished up his breakfast.
Everyone looked at him.
"I mean, let's be fair, not everyone wants to marry their soulmate because that's not the way their relationship with them works, it's just the media says that that's how it should be," Mr Park finished.
"You know in our world that people are supposedly supposed to feel that, I don't know, zing," Jimin's brother said.
Mr. Park laughed, "What if I told you that I didn't feel the, what did you call it? Zing? Until about five months after your mother did?"
"Huh?"
"See, it depends on a person and their life and their openness to it, you can't see something with a heart that's neither ready for it nor wanting to pursue it, or a heart that is overlooking everything especially the obvious in front of you,"
"Really?"
"Yeah, your mother was open but she was also just living her life, from what she said, though, she can tell you about that instead of me putting words in her mouth, but for me, I was always busy, just, busy, busy, busy, always working, always wanting to achieve something next, I didn't really think about finding someone let alone my soulmate, but one day, it just, clicked, and I realized who was in front of me the whole time and I didn't notice,"
"Hope it doesn't happen to me like that, I want the movie thing, Jimin, though, he's like that,"
"WHAT!? I am not!" Jimin screeched.
"Oh please, you were oblivious as a kid, and you're oblivious now," his brother said to him as he finished up his breakfast.
"I highly doubt it,"
"Boys, enough, you, go do your homework, Jimin, what are you doing today?" his mother said and asked.
"Lotte World with Tae, Date Day as we haven't exactly had a chance to have a proper one, busy, busy,"
"Well, have a good day then,"
