DISCLAIMER: I do not own Steven Universe, all rights go to Rebecca Sugar.
What was it? Is that a corrupted gem? Why are there so many shard? Could it be another failed experiment form the diamonds? Too many things crossed Steven's mind, not enough time to focus on a certain amalgamation chasing them.
"Steven focus!" Connie shouted, pulling him by his hand, running through a jungle of plants. Turning his head, he could see the blob of mangled colors chase them, its size completely surpassing the heigh of the leafs.
I STILL SEE YOU
Looking down, he saw every leg and arm dragging the body at such speeds leaving no long distance between itself and the two.
Steven quickly grabbed Connie and jumped away from the amalgamation, thankfully it didn't jump, it most likely was too heavy for itself to jump. "Where are the gems?!" Steven frantically asked Connie. "We split up in hopes that the thing would follow them!"
They weren't too far from the tower, neither was the blob of shards and colors. Suddenly, the amalgamation stopped. Once landing, Steven looked to see the blob looking down at the two, holding large rocks in every hand.
Steven looked around and saw a cave not too far from the tower. "Connie, get to the cave, I'll go to the tower!" Steven said before the amalgamation began throwing the rocks in their direction. Both quickly separating, constantly dodging every chunk thrown at them.
"No! We do this together!" Connie shouted, just before a hand crept its way from behind. "Connie!" Steven shouted, he could only hope that he would catch her sooner than the hand. Suddenly, a certain fusion appeared from behind the amalgamation.
"Alexandrite!" Connie spoke, seeing the fusion swing a fist into the face of the blob, resulting in a fierce shriek from the behemoth. "Run!" Alexandrite ordered, both nodding and running to the tower, safely making it inside.
...
Back on earth, the wait became dreadful and tense, it was only a matter of time before Redstone arrived. Peridot, pacing back and forth, wondering how many stones there may be, who would need to be dealt with first. Lapis at least had an idea to use the ocean to trap all the stones while they waited.
Bismuth watched from above with Bluestone and Greenstone hiding inside the tower, waiting for any ship that arrives. "You don't think this stone is really as intelligent as the diamonds made him to be... right?" Lapis asked Peridot, slightly worried for what may happen.
"It's uncertain if he's coming with an army or just himself, if you remember back at the beach, he held off on his own." Peridot mention as she was still pacing. Just then, they heard a noise coming from the sky.
A lonely gem ship slowly dropping down from the sky. "Huh... one ship?" Peridot spoke, looking up as the ship above them began to move towards the entrance of Little Homeworld. "You two stay here." Bismuth ordered to the stones as she jumped off the tower, joining the two below as the ship was now reaching the ground.
With the plan going swell so far, the three gems approached the entrance. Lapis could potentially leave them trapped in water bubbles until Homeworld comes to help and it would be over, yet who's to say Yellowstone wouldn't be fast enough to avoid it?
Peridot could just hold the ships doors closed and wait for Homeworld to come, although Redstone could just punch through it with enough tries. Lastly Bismuth, the best she could do is make a big enough hammer to constantly push them back inside the ship, that is if both stones don't time it right.
Once reaching the entrance, all three prepared for a tense battle, hearing the door open and ready to strike. "Alright you upper crust!" The first stone to appear was none other than Redstone, calmly walking towards them. "Show us what you got, it won't be..."
