The Elements Of Love

✧.*CHAPTER 1- ELEONOR✧.*

,,Get up, sixteen!" someone bursts into my room. I can tell by the voice that it's going to be my best friend Amira along with her twin sister Amina, who is enjoying her exchange year at Mirabil, so she's yelling at me through the phone.

,,Don't call me sixteen, I feel old, Ri." I say, half-asleep, rolling onto my side. ,,Good morning,to you too." the twins say at the same time, and I can't help but laugh. ,,Isn't the birthday girl supposed to enjoy a long night's sleep?" I mutter. ,,Come on, wake up now, you've got enough sleep, sixteen, Ingrid's already done with your birthday breakfast." Ri pulls at my leg and I finally get out of bed.

,,Is Ami coming to breakfast with us?" I ask, seeing her on the screen for the first time. She's still the same Amina I remember, perfectly tanned skin, hazel eyes, beautiful face and the curly hair that I've always envied her, a complete copy of Amira.

,,I'd love to, El, but unfortunately I have to go to my breakfast here, enjoy today, I love you very much, but you know that!"

 ,,Thank you very much, Ami, you enjoy it there too, or should I say enjoy some of those mysterious exchange students?" I tease her mildly. ,,You know what? You'd better go to breakfast and start focusing on your love life, have a good day!" and she hung up. Ri and I look at each other in a way we both understand.

I believe she must already have someone there, but because it's Ami, she won't tell us. I think Ri thinks so too. We'll see when she comes back. I'm going to get it all out of her.

The room was filled with Ri's laughter, which I love so much. Suddenly, the door opens and I see my mom, Ingrid. ,,Ri, you realize it's seven o'clock in the morning, don't you?"

 ,,I'm sorry, Ingrid, but Ami's having an interesting  experience, it's too funny." she chuckles again. ,,Don't worry, I heard-" There is a complete change of tone: ,,Good morning, princess, happy birthday, sixteen!" What does everyone have with that nickname?

I gasp when I see a big pile of my mom's delicious food on the table in front of me and the next thing I remember is how much Ri and I were stuffed.

,,Thank you very much mom, it was, unexpectedly, delicious!" I began to stroke my full belly with satisfaction. Ri just nodded with a mouthful of scrambled eggs, which are Mom's specialty. ,,I'm so glad you enjoyed it, but I have to go to work, you have some money for lunch on the fridge, princess. Ri, you say hello at home for me!" she kissed both of us on the forehead and went to work.

My shoulder started itching again.

Throughout the morning, Ri and I were doing our favorite activities like karaoke, watching Netflix, stalking the alleged boyfriend of Ami or scrolling through Tiktok.

When hunger came, we ordered the best pizza in Elowen.

After about an hour, they called me to go pick it up.

,,Don't scratch your shoulder all the time. It'll fall off in no time," Ri laughed behind me. If only she knew how much my shoulder hurts.

I tried to ignore it and went to put on my shoes.

My shoulder started to hurt even more.

Now I had to pause for a moment, but then I opened the front door and immediately stopped.

On the floor in front of the door was a very nicely wrapped envelope so I took it in my hand. I groaned in pain, and that caught the attention of Ri, who came to me.

When she saw what I had in my hand, she turned pale.

,,El, go sit down and wait for me, I'll bring the pizza." and she went downstairs to get the pizza.
