"El, come on!!"
I run as fast as I can. I'm breathing heavily. We have been on the adaptation trip since this morning and right now we are playing "bonding" games. In my opinion, this game will rather drift us away from the others, because everyone wants to win.
Really bad.
We are divided into teams of four. One person from each element and we overcome monkey tracks with different hurdles.
But not ordinary monkey tracks. It's something like a relay. Each element has its own section and it's my turn right now after Thea and I am overcoming the water section with about 20 other people.
First, I have to fill a big bucket with water.
Thanks to Otto, I can work better with water now, and I even know how to create it myself. I just have to concentrate a lot.
I close my eyes and try to not think about anything.
Just clear your head, El.
The only thing I can think about is water. I feel my energy being transferred to my fingertips. I'm sure I succeeded. Thin streams of water started to burst from my fingers. But thin streams are not enough.
When I jerk my hand, the water becomes a one big stream and the bucket is immediately full.
As quickly as possible, I move on to the next task, where I need to use my telekinetic ability, turn the water into one big drop, control it and at the same time overcome various obstacles. If something stops me from concentraiting, the water falls and I can start from the very beginning.
We practiced telekinesis in our classes and I wasn't very good at it. Mrs. Melbourne said that all you need is concentration and steady hands. But she has 20 years more practice than me. Lucky her.
You can do this, El. Inhale, exhale.
I clench my hands and shape the water. I correct the form with my right hand, lift the water with my left. Little by little.
When I have the ideal shape and the ideal height, I slowly walk to the obstacles. I can't run fast, otherwise I can say goodbye to the win.
Crawl under an obstacle, done.
Slalom, without hesitation.
The last is an elevated footbridge. That will be a piece of cake.
The first step, easy. But when I noticed that there was mud in the middle of the footbridge, on which I would slip, I stopped thinking about my drop of water, which at that moment disappeared and started falling.
This was the end.
What am I supposed to do now?
A few centimeters above the ground, however, the water got back into one drop and I had it in my power again.
But that wasn't me.
What happened?
I paused for a moment, but I have to finish my part of the relay, so I'll think about it calmly later. At my finish line, I dissolve the drop into the given container and rush to the next member of our team who has the air section in front of him.
"Ben! Go!" I slapped him on the hand, maybe a little harder than necessary, and fell to the ground exhausted.
"EL WHAT WAS THAT???" Kai threw himself at me, who finished a few seconds before me.
"I.. I don't know.." and I started laughing. Someone saved my ass. I wonder who it was.
After a while, I stood up and gave Thea and Leo a triumphant hug. Well, they were hugging each other. I could make a good comment, but Leo probably wouldn't survive.
