word count: 2613 __ scrying, magical wife
five woke up prior to mei, as she was entirely sprawled out awkwardly on the floor mattress. five smiled at her awkwardly laid body.
"my magic girl," he muttered. he got out and stretched uncomfortably, groaning as he felt the tenderness of a healed abdomen wound.
five had been terribly awoken to a loud ringing down the hall, it was like a cowbell. like they were animals and it was feedin' time. after his quick stretch, he kneeled beside mei. his hands touched her shoulders and began to shake her awake.
"come on my little ball of thunder, wakey wakey. we gotta world to save," five droned like a bird. five had his small smirk on his face seeing mei roll her eyes and sit up. mei didn't even wave, look at him, just immediately crashed into five's side to try to fall asleep again.
"let's go, klaus is herding the flock." five stood up, and brought mei down with him. he sat her down as klaus poured luther a cup of coffee, to which five promptly took from luther's finger tips. five drank it and scowled even faster than he took luther's coffee.
"jesus. who do i gotta kill to get a decent cup of coffee?" five grimaced while he put the cup down. his tongue blanched with the lackluster taste and smell of burnt coffee.
"can we get started please?" luther grumbled.
"rough night big man?" mei asked while folding her arms onto the table to lean her head onto to rest.
"anyone seen diego or allison?" klaus asked. no one answered, to which he took the empty replies until mei chimed. her voice was muffled as she spoke into the table.
"domestic life fits you klaus. should marry rich. praying for you honey, and i saw them last night, but they disappeared. didn't tell me what happened, or their plans." mei commented as she heard klaus place a cup in front of her, she picked her head up to see a cup of already steeped tea.
"this is the closest thing to a quorum! so i'm just gonna say it!! there's no easy way to say this so im just going to spit it out," klaus admitted as he gathered everyone's attention by hitting a spatula un-rhythmically. he stared into an empty chair, breathing a heavy "yeah..." into existence.
the three stared waiting for an answer. "klaus." luther implied to get on with it. klaus snapped out of his daze and looked back. a pause before he broke the news.
"i conjured dad last night." mei could have laughed at the thick silence that fell, but instead just stared.
