mei picked yellow sundress, with small red flowers. it was similar to what she would wear on her days off at the commission, but those were normally longer to accommodate for the fact that mei was taller. mei found five wondering around, bag now deflated with the lack of his math buddy, delores. at the sight, she smiled to five to which he grinned back. "this cute?" five nodded, "come on, let's go try it on."
mei scrunched her face up, and nodded. she followed five as he shoved her behind the curtain. he took her bag of spellbooks, and let her change. when she finished changing, her outfit now mary jane's, white knee high socks, and the yellow sundress, along with her oh-so-fashionable white adhesive eyepatch. five grabbed her academy clothes, shoving the clothing and bag of spellbooks in his bag and blinked out the building.
"five!"
"mei, my darling girl. we don't have much money to begin with. let's go to that date yeah?" he smiled, and took her hand. mei took his hand and began walking down the street of the city.
the two lovers, basking in the saved day. they visited a coffee shop, which five had no choice but to pay for his coffee. it was then followed by a nice dine and dash, then a walk around, nearing sunset, five caught eye of the newspaper. his eyes tore away from what was before him to a newspaper box.
"shit," he led mei towards it and stared at it in horror. "it's the same, five..." mei whispered quietly.
five nodded, "we need to go back to the academy."
the couple rushed as night fell upon their backs, they returned back to the academy in shock. he climbed over rubble, leading mei carefully behind him. "guys this is it. the apocalypse is still on. the world ends today."
"i thought you said it was over," luther said moving from allison's side. five's back lurched, holding up the crinkled newspaper in his other hand.
"i was wrong, okay? this newspaper is what me and mei found when we met. the day i got stuck. the headline hasn't changed." diego stared blankly as he listened to five.
"no. that doesn't mean anything, time could have been altered since then. it came out this morning," he shook his head in denial.
"no, listen to me. when i found it, i assumed this place came down with everything else," five tried to make it all make sense while he explained to himself and his family.
"when i was here..." mei sighed before continuing. "when i came out of my basement, it was like an earthquake. i watched the moon crumble and rocket down on to the earth, okay? that moon is still intact. so is the world, but the academy...?" klaus grabbed the newspaper from five aggressively, murmuring his confusion.
