as mei fell to the floor, her bag landing directly into her back she groaned in pain. she collected herself and counted her books, perfect number of fourteen and a medical aid kit, she stood.

mei's face hardened as she stood to see no one else around her. there was no way five blinked them all in different locations, but she couldn't rule that out. mei didn't understand five's ability all that well with all the math involved, but could understand that time travel is a crapshoot, time and time again without proper preparation.

mei couldn't stay in this alleyway, and she couldn't show her face yet, not until she knew the time and place she was. mei's hand reached to her eyepatch, to press down on it to reinforce the adhesive and she exited the alleyway. she exited cautiously, even if she couldn't use magic, her slimmer body was great for snooping like she would for The Temps Commission.

first reaction was to keep her head down as she wondered out and onto the street. her uncovered eye also peered around to look for any street sign, along with anyone she may know.

she noted commerce, and let herself keep wondering until she found a newspaper box, she patted herself down to find any form of currency. she realized if she had an up to date coin from the future it'd potentially be an issue if it went in circulation. she kept doing so as she felt a man beside her stare.

he walked over, a taller gentlemen, and slotted a coin into the coin slot for her. as opened it so she could grab it out.

"thank you, sir," mei said politely, her head down. "i'm sorry... i don't have anything to give you in return," she muttered.

"no worries, you... you look mighty young to be alone, miss...?"

the little wizard was quick to think something up. she lied as she read the newspaper date. may 29th, 1959, she expelled a sigh.

"i think... i think my name is mei, i... i'm somewhere around eighteen,"

the man crinkled his nose. "think? what do you mean?"

the man then leaned his hip against the metal box and his hands tucked into his pockets. his suit was neat, a suit jacket folded and rested between his hips and his arm.

"i... i don't know how i got here. uhm... i just walked out an alley some few blocks back... i already looked for any identification in this bag... but none," she huffed as she folded the newspaper into her bag. when she finally looked up at the man, and saw him grimace, he was just under six feet tall, and to her surprise, an asian male.
