You would think after the talk I had with Malik he would do everything in his power to do right? Shortly after our encounter, he did the complete opposite of what I thought he would do. The phone calls became unanswered, he no longer would pop up just to make sure I was okay, and eventually I was just a distant memory to him.
Seeing him engaged to the same girl he cheated on me with told me all I need to know. My heart breaks not for me but for my child, how could he do this to us? I still talk to his parents from time to time due to their involvement in my baby's life.
After having my little bug, which I named him Anthony, my main focus was taking care of myself and my child. I was over relationships altogether and I would swear I would never give another man my heart, but I met a man named Shun. I met him at the local cafe here in town, and although I rejected his many advances towards me, he was persistent not in an annoying way but he was such a gentleman.
He was the product of a man raised the right way; he was so caring always putting others before himself. He is an Adonis of a man, yes, but sometimes looks aren't always the best; that man has a heart of gold, and I will forever cherish him. He also loves Anthony and helps me take care of our child; yes, I said our child.
A huge pair of arms wrapped around me, and I smelled his redolent scent. With a sigh, I leaned into his warmth as we sat outside of our house. Anthony was playing around with the puppy we got him for Christmas, and I loved the bond the two had.
"How are you feeling, baby? Do you need anything?" he asked, his voice deep, filled with concern.
See, this is why I'm expecting another child; this man just does these things for me.
"I'm good, boo, thank you for asking, though," I said.
"Alright, I just wanted to make sure my baby's okay, you know I love you, right?" he said, genuinely.
"Of course, and I will always love you until death do us part," I said, bringing our hands together.
This was all I could ask for; I'm glad I gave him a chance.
