Recovery was quite the struggle for Kiyoomi. He'd lost a lot of blood and there was essentially a massive hole in his heart that was slowly being healed through the joint efforts of Atsumu and Shugo. Atsumu had to be with Kiyoomi all the time to ensure that his blood was circulating properly and he wasn't allowed to do much physical activity at all.
Thankfully, despite the unfortunate events that unfolded, Atsumu and Kiyoomi's mission had been a success. They'd gained all the evidence that the Jackals needed to start a revolution. The only part of the plan left was to send the information out to everyone in the city. They had the perfect way to do that though.
They thoroughly planned it out for another two weeks, to give Kiyoomi time to fully recover and to put all the evidence together into a massive compilation. By the time they were ready to send out the information, Kiyoomi was fully healed.
'Fully healed' was a serious overestimate since Kiyoomi would never physically be the same ever again. However, he wouldn't have it any differently. If he had the choice to go back, he'd do it all over again. He'd rather be scathed for the rest of his life than live it without Atsumu. He was glad he made the choice to save Atsumu, because if it was Atsumu who'd died in that vault, there would have been no saving him and Kiyoomi would have broken the most important rule of the Black Jackals: the no bloodshed rule.
Kiyoomi knew for a fact that if it was Atsumu who'd died that day, he probably would have blown half of Osaka into oblivion after meticulously deatomizing Tatsuto and Toshiro on the spot.
"Ya ready, Omi?" Atsumu called, drawing Kiyoomi out of his thoughts.
He was seated in front of a camera with the large windows of the training room behind him. In front of him, stood Shugo and Atsumu, along with Barnes Oriver, a meta with the nickname of Broadcast. They were behind the camera. Across the training room, also behind the camera, stood Tobio and Wakatoshi. They'd already recorded their videos and now it was Kiyoomi's turn.
Korai was also in the room, his eyes growing wider as he took in the details of everything the Adlers had done.
"Yes," Kiyoomi answered, "I'm ready."
"Camera is rolling," Oriver informed, "You can start whenever you want to."
Kiyoomi nodded and took a breath before he began, "People of Osaka, you'd probably know me by my codename, Vortex. My real name is Sakusa Kiyoomi and I used to work for the Adlers. I worked for them for three years. I started when they recruited me after an accident involving my meta abilities. They offered me power dampeners, a home and a salary if I worked for them in return. I'm the beginning, it was pleasant, though I quickly learned what the Adlers were truly like..."
Kiyoomi explained everything. He spoke about the power dampeners and the threats on Motoya's life. He spoke about the Adlers working to kill their opponents instead of imprisoning them. He added a third statement to what Wakatoshi and Tobio had stated before him.
By the time he was finished with his statement, Kiyoomi's throat was dry. He felt exhausted after reliving past memories, so he stalked back to his room. He laid back on his bed and sighed. The week coming was going to be hectic.
Deciding that he needed to train some more – having not done much physical activity at all in the prior two weeks – he got up and changed into some more comfortable clothing to train in. He then made his way to the secondary training room, also known as the hall the Jackals had turned into a gym.
He started with practicing his muay thai techniques on a standing punching bag. He started off slow and began to add more power as he went on. Once he was comfortable with throwing full-power attacks, he began to imbue his attacks with negative energy. It was a risk to do it unsupervised but he was too tired to care. Besides, while he wasn't doing physical training, he was strengthening his control over his power.
All the training seemed to have paid off as well because he managed to keep his inversions under control throughout the entire hour he trained.
When he'd finally finished, he made his way down to the kitchen to get a snack. After that, he went back to his room and showered. He then laid down on his bed to take a nap.
Atsumu was busy helping Oriver and Shugo for the week after the ex-Adlers finished recording their statements. They were compiling a massive video that Oriver would broadcast to the whole city. In the time that Atsumu was busy, Kiyoomi trained with some of the other residents of the Black Jackals base, such as Joffe Alexandre, also known as Meteor.
Alexandre would throw bits of metal and different steel weapons in Kiyoomi's direction and Kiyoomi was tasked to defend himself using negative energy.
Since Kiyoomi's stamina had taken a massive hit due to the literal hole in his heart, he worked himself to the bone to improve his physical state. He trained everyday of the week.
He got Koutarou to shoot steel feathers at him. He got Wakatoshi to spar with him. He got Shoyo and Tobio to spar with him at the same time to increase difficulty. Kiyoomi's determination to take down the Adlers was his motivation to keep training and the fact that they had nearly killed both him and Atsumu just made him push himself harder.
So, while Atsumu was busy creating plans to overthrow the Adlers, Kiyoomi would do everything in his power to make sure they ran smoothly. He'd had enough of the Adlers and their bullshit.
Kiyoomi had finally found something worth living for that wasn't just keeping those he cared for alive. He found people that he'd die for, live for and kill for, and, rules be damned, he'd do anything to give them a good life.
