"Damn," Atsumu said blankly, "That's...rough."

Kiyoomi fiddled with his hands in his lap as he huffed a short laugh and nodded, "Yeah. It was."

Atsumu hummed, "Well, I can't say my 'supervillain' origin story is worse than yers but since ya jus' spilled yer guts I'm gonna return the favor."

"Go ahead," Kiyoomi chuckled.

Atsumu gave him a small smile before starting his story, "I'm also a second generation meta. My brother, Samu, an' I were an odd case. We were born to a meta an' a non-meta, an' even though we're twins, I got the meta gene but Samu didn't. My family was ashamed of my power though. They called it disgustin' an' horrid 'cause of its nature. When the Adlers came to power six years ago an' that rule 'bout metas needing to either work for 'em or wear power blockers for the rest of their lives, Samu an' I ran away right before we turned nineteen, an' right before our parents could send me to the Adlers. It wasn't long after that, I decided that, to keep Samu safe, I would leave. I would stay in contact, but I would join up with the Black Jackals to learn how to use my abilities properly to protect the both of us."

Kiyoomi blinked, waiting for more but Atsumu just shrugged, "That's 'bout it. Ya already know 'bout the work I did for the Jackals, an' 'bout the shit that happened to me durin' our massive game of charades."

Kiyoomi smiled softly, looking directly at Atsumu, "You're right. That's not much of a supervillain origin story."

Atsumu laughed, "Yeah? It isn't, is it?"

Kiyoomi shook his head, "No, but I think it's for the better," when faced with Atsumu's raised eyebrow, Kiyoomi began to explain, "I don't think the Black Jackals can really be considered villains."

Atsumu chuckled, "I guess not, huh?"

Kiyoomi sighed, "If anyone's a villain, it's most definitely the Adlers. The city's gone through hell because of them..."

Kiyoomi felt Atsumu's hand being placed on his shoulder. The blonde leaned towards Kiyoomi and smiled reassuringly.

"Sachiro-kun is a good guy," Atsumu assured, "This city will be better under his control."

Kiyoomi frowned, "How do you know that?"

"'Cause I know Sachiro," Atsumu replied, his gorgeous eyes full of sincerity.

"Your eyes are really pretty," Kiyoomi blurted, his eyes growing wide as he realized what he said.

Atsumu's eyes widened slightly, his cheeks growing red, "Thanks. Yers too."

Kiyoomi blinked – that was not what he expected, "You're just saying that."

Atsumu shook his head, "I mean it. Yer eyes remind me of the void of yer pocket dimension," his burning gaze flicked between the deep darkness of Kiyoomi's eyes.

Kiyoomi took a breath and then his eyes inverted, "And now? Do you still think so?"

Atsumu frowned but nodded. He leaned back again. He offered no explanation of what he saw, but he was sure that the heat in his cheeks told Kiyoomi all he needed to know. Kiyoomi couldn't help but let a quiet laugh slip and his eyes reverted.

"Did ya jus' voluntarily invert an' revert??" Atsumu questioned, coming to his senses.

Kiyoomi nodded, "I can do it when I my powers aren't in use, but they tend to surge out of my control while using them."

Atsumu hummed, "That's good to know," he murmured, "That actually brings up a problem that we need to deal with..."

Kiyoomi turned his whole body to fully face Atsumu, "Which is?"

"We know next to nothin' 'bout each other's powers aside from what we've seen," Atsumu pointed out, "We're gonna be workin' an' trainin' together, so it would probably be a good idea to learn more 'bout each other's abilities."

Kiyoomi nodded attentively, "We'd probably also have a better chance at accomplishing our mission if that's the case."

Atsumu hummed in agreement, "Okay, so... My powers work exactly the way ya'd think, I can control an' sense the flow of blood inside or outside of the body. That includes myself an' anything that has blood. I can also control the physical state of blood. So, like, I can turn it from a liquid, to a solid or a gas."

Kiyoomi frowned, "I think I understand," he paused, "Does that mean that you have the potential to stop my heart if you wanted?" He asked, slightly horrified.

Atsumu nodded, "I do have morals, though, so unless I absolutely have to, I won't use my powers to control others' blood. That's jus' wrong," he finished with a shiver.

Kiyoomi hummed, "So, you only use your ability to sense blood and its movements when it comes to locating other people?"

Atsumu nodded, "An' to read their emotions. I refuse to use them in any other way on another person's blood."

"Are there any, like, weaknesses to your power?" Kiyoomi asked, "I have to know in case we run into something you're weak against. That way I can be ready to step in."

Kiyoomi caught the way Atsumu's cheeks glowed red right before the blonde looked away, "Yeah, uh... This might seem obvious but I don't have an endless supply of blood in my body. Sure, if I lose a lotta blood, my body is able to replace it a lot quicker than yer average human, but the effects are still the same," he scratched his head, "The thing is, my blood remains livin' as long as it has some attachment to the rest of my bloodstream."

Kiyoomi pursed his lips, "Like the blood outside your body, that you are manipulating doesn't count as blood lost?"

"Exactly!" Atsumu beamed at him before the smile faltered, "That's why whenever ya burned some of my blood, or sent it into oblivion, it would weaken me greatly."

"Shit," Kiyoomi muttered, understanding what Atsumu meant.

The negative energy would have travelled from the blood outside of Atsumu's body into his actual bloodstream. The same thing would have happened with Wakatoshi's arsenic.

"How are you even alive after everything I've done to you?" Kiyoomi whispered.

Atsumu let out a short humor less chuckle, "Whenever yer negative energy entered my bloodstream, I'd send my blood regeneration abilities into overdrive so that I could replace the blood bein' deatomized as it was deatomized. Shit like that takes a hell of a toll on my body though."

"I can imagine," Kiyoomi replied quietly and there was silence for a moment, "Anything else important that you need to tell me about your power?"

Atsumu thought for a moment, "I'm a universal blood donor."

Kiyoomi blinked and Atsumu pursed his lips. Ten seconds of charged silence passed before they both burst out laughing.
