Kara Morgan was only 20. Born in January, this aquarius knew she didn't go with every crowd. And this was part of her older sister, Alex's doing.
Kara matured from a young age. She knew what she wanted, and she wrote it on a piece of paper at the age of 8. That paper was hung on her family fridge growing up. Right next to Alex's. It was a piece of paper with messy red, white, and blue stars scribbled on there and a not so good looking American flag. It wrote:
I want to play soccer for USA
Her teachers and classmates thought she was crazy, but the Morgan family and Martin family knew she meant business.
The Morgan family used to live in California, but the two Morgan parents moved to Illinois after Alex and Kara went to college, obviously playing at the Division 1 level. Alex went to University of California, Berkeley. Kara went to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, however, she managed to graduate early with her degree by two years which set her off into the professional soccer realm alongside her sister.
The Martin family and Morgan family went way back. The parents of both families were family friends to begin with, but unfortunately had to separate due to the Martins moving to Illinois and the Morgan's wanting to stay in California until the girls graduated high school. However that didn't mean they didn't keep in touch, and their children wouldn't be as close as ever. The Morgans took many trips during random parts of the year to visit their close friends. Alex and Kara didn't complain, because they loved the Martin kids. The kids all grew up with each other, even if that meant spending so much time on flights.
Kara and Kate were inseparable. When the time came for college, it didn't strain their relationship. While Kate was in Iowa and Kara in North Carolina — they still kept in touch. They knew every bit of each others lives, but didn't get to meet each others friends as much. Being two division 1 athletes traveling can be hard.
After graduating early from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kara decided to forgo her college eligibility of playing collegiate soccer to launch herself in the professional soccer world. But only for the National Team at this point. She already had experience playing for the U-17 and U-21 teams. That also meant she didn't need to stay in a certain city at all times for a NWSL team. So when Kate brought up the idea of her living in Iowa with her, only traveling for team camps — she didn't want to pass it up. The Morgan and Martin family however didn't want them to live in an apartment, they built a house for them. Although the girls had lots of NIL and sponsorship money on them, it didn't stop their parents from spoiling them...a little too much. Kate and Kara will start to live with each other when Kate's new school year at University of Iowa starts back up.
Their lives were at different points. At 20, Kara was now in the running for a spot in the USWNT World Cup Roster. And Kate is blossoming her basketball career, alongside someone important: Caitlin Clark.

Kara was currently with Alex in her San Diego home, babysitting Alex's daughter Charlie. Kara wanted to visit Charlie before her and Alex head to the Era's Tour. Alex was still amazing friends with Taylor Swift, and Kara had also began to become good friends with her as well.
"Alex, what time are we flying to Minnesota?" asked Kara, while kicking a small soccer ball with an energetic Charlie. She was ecstatic to go to the Eras Tour but also excited to see her best friend whom she will be living with soon.
