Kara was happy with how she was doing. On the field, she still brought the quickness and instant decision making to assisting for the team. On the offseason, she was practicing all things speed and reacting, and she was showing Jill Ellis the reason why she should be on the team - let alone, have a starting spot.

Every Friday, the girls planned a fancy dinner. Lots of gossip was passed around, updates on their life, and anything to separate soccer from their lives at the moment. It was November 18, the last Friday fancy dinner until their other training camp in February. The girls would be returning to their respective homes on Tuesday.

Kara loved being with the National Team squad. Although younger, she wasn't treated such. She was held at the same regard as Alex. They
were older sisters, Alex literally being her older sister was obvious, but it was a different bond with the girls. This year, she was the youngest girl in camp.

Kara was currently in her hotel room, placing her mini gold hoops when she got a FaceTime call from her best friend. It was a day after the girls had lost by one singular point against Kansas State. Kate and Caitlin had texted her straight after the game, they were bummed but just needed a good nights sleep to bounce back. They had another game on the 20th, which was the same day Kara returned back to Iowa. But they didn't know she would be taking a flight that would land about two hours before game — Kara was going to surprise them.

Kara answered her best friends FaceTime.

"KARA!" came from the other line. Kate was the person in the center, but behind her were her yelling teammates: Caitlin, Jada, and Gabbie.

"Guys, my eardrums," groaned Kate, before turning to Kara. "Hello, Kar."

"And where is your fine ass going?" asked Jada, peeking at Kara who was standing in her bathroom mirror locking her mini gold hoops on her ears. "That orange dress is stunning on you."

Kara laughed, "Thank you, Miss Jada. I have team dinner, it's Fancy Friday."

"You look great, Kar," said Kate, smiling at her best friend. "Bright colors like yellow and orange look great on you."

"Whatever," laughed Kara. "Anyways, how are you guys doing? Ready for Junior Hawk Day?"

The girls perked up, all excited. The girls would be going against the Belmont Bruins, they should get the job done. Won't be smooth or easy since it's still early on in the season, but she felt they could make it out.

"It'll be good, I mean we will bounce back," said an optimistic Caitlin, meeting Kara's eyes on screen. Her eyes lingering and taking time to check out Kara. Her hair was silky and in the smallest of waves, no makeup on but mascara, and gold jewelry. Caitlin thought she looked like a dream. "It's a bummer you won't be there."

Kara smiled, she was now done fiddling with her necklace that Kate had gotten her. "You guys just miss me, huh?"

"More like Caitlin misses you," mumbled Gabbie, which earned a small slap on the arm from Caitlin, who was now blushing. Kara thought nothing of it, once again trying to live in denial thanks to a guy trying to win Caitlin's heart at the moment.

"We do miss you, though, Kara," said Kate with a sigh. "The house is so empty. Can we please get a dog?"

Kara looked at Kate with wide eyes and a smile. She truly was crazy. Their schedules would definitely not allow having a dog.

"Kate, you know how busy we are. A dog is not even in our cards," laughed Kara. "We are traveling too much all the time."

The three girls behind Kate laughed at Kate's defeat. Caitlin still just staring at Kara, who was now holding the phone standing near her hotel room desk.
