Thanksgiving was one of Kara's favorite holidays. And even Kate's. It was a day full of good people, good food, and overall good ambience. Fall was overall Kara's favorite time of the year besides spring. She loved the bright colors of spring, but autumn had a special place in her heart.
Today was the day before Thanksgiving, and Kate had the basketball Thanksgiving banquet. Kara decided not to go last minute, although she was invited. She honestly didn't want to go. Helping her family and Kate's family set up for their Thanksgiving party was a good excuse to not go. She was thankful the "unsupervised" Thanksgiving party with the men's and women's team was cancelled as well. She only had the family Thanksgiving party to worry about.
Kara was in the kitchen, making lattes for the families staying on the guest rooms of the house. One special matcha for Kate, who always preferred a matcha over coffee. She knew everyone's order by now, a little piece of her love language.
"Morning, Kara and Kate," greeted Jill, joining Kate and Kara at the island, sitting in one of the tall chairs. She placed kisses on each of the girls' hair. "Wow, at this point you need to open a coffee shop."
Kara and Kate softly laughed. The array of drinks were lined up, and aesthetically pleasing. Kara pulled one, and gave it to Jill. Her honey oat milk latte ready for her.
"This is delicious, Kara. I'm serious, you've loved coffee for so long," smiled Jill, sitting next to Kate who was sat in a tall chair as well sipping on her matcha. "A coffee shop would be so on brand for you."
Kara smiled, "Thanks, Jill. Maybe one day. I have so much on my plate to do and take care of."
"Literally a show on Netflix being one," said Kate.
At this point, Kara's parents came in as well. They greeted their daughter and Kate lovingly, placing kissed on their cheeks.
"Morning, mom and dad," smiled Kara, pushing their coffees to them. They sat at the other tall chairs, next to Jill. Matt Martin greeting everyone and sat next to his wife.
"Thank you, hon," smiled Pamela Morgan, her dad Michael also thanking Kara. "Delicious as always."
"Yep," said her dad, settling in a chair. "So I heard Netflix upon coming over here."
Kate smiled, "You heard right, Michael."
"I just can't believe they'll be following you, Kara," said Jill. "I lose my mind when I see cameras pointed at me during Kate's games."
"Well, to be fair they are filming an Iowa documentary for this season, so there's more cameras than usual," shrugged Kate.
"That's good, Kate!" smiled Pamela Morgan. "Seems like you and Kara are just in the spotlight now."
"True," said Kate. "I'm thankful."
"Yeah, for Thanksgiving this year I think I'm most thankful for these opportunities," smiled Kara.
"Well, you two deserve it. You're gonna go far. The both of you," smiled Michael.
"Farther than the both of you think," smiled Matt Martin.

The Martins and Morgan's later had breakfast after their morning conversations and debrief. It was refreshing for everyone. A peaceful morning, full of just pure love that goes way back from both families.
