Although Riley hated to see Kenny struggling, she never minded supporting her which is exactly what she continued to do through the weekend. Instead what bothered her was coming back to their dorm Monday and finding Kenny and Tyler cuddling in her room, clearly on good terms again. After forcing a fake smile as she greeted them, Riley went into her own room and closed the door. She spent the next ten minutes attempting to focus on a homework assignment but gave up knowing she was too annoyed about Kenny and Tyler to be productive. Instead she found herself gazing at the calendar she had on the wall above her desk. Struck with an idea, she pulled open her laptop and began compiling the details to make her plan a reality.

This time, as Riley walked into her shared class with James on Wednesday, she was carrying a small vase with red daisies interspersed with a few white daisies. She placed the vase next to James as she took her seat beside her. James glanced from the flowers to Riley but before she could ask, Riley stated "They're for you."

James appeared touched but confused "But why?"

Riley shrugged "Happy Valentine's Day. I hope they are ok. I got red because that's your favorite color and I'm pretty sure you said daisies are your favorite flower. I didn't want to be too intense but I wanted to get you something special and-" she was rambling now and only stopped when James reached out to place her hand on Riley's, squeezed softly, and said "I love them. They're perfect."

Riley blushed but flipped her hand up so that she could intertwine her fingers with James'. Both spent the rest of class glancing at the other w/searching eyes and bashful smiles.

The next night after practice had ended, Riley texted James saying "Here's some words to go with your flowers. It's kinda chill vibes but I focused on lyric content and I hope it's going to be the first of many so the next one will be different. But anyways, I suck at using my words sometimes and expressing myself so I figured I'd let some songs help me." along with a playlist called 'a daisy that never dies'.
