Kingdom of Lauria, Fortress Legion XVII, March 11th 1639 (2022)
Lauria's Mega Fortress, Fortress Legion XVII, with walls as tall as 100 feet, 30 feet thick and built to endure modern attacks. This Massive fortress was under siege. On the 8th of March, General Decimus Brutus and 9000 men attacked Major General Constantine Stilicho in a surprise attack, who had 10 500 Men.
It seemed like an open and shut battle, but the Destroyers in the river fired missiles right into the Laurians as they attacked.
The battle lasted less than 1 day as Major General Constantine Stilicho destroyed the Laurians, he lost only 200 men killed and wounded. But for the Laurians, 2200 were captured and 3000 killed, the rest fled back to the Fortress, to await reinforcements.
Major General Constantine Stilicho wasted no time surrounding Fortress Legion XVII with 10 300 men.
On the 9th, the 15th Infantry Division, which was in Kua Toine, Arrived in the river, with Major General Constantine Kuznetsov, Taking command of the Eastern River side.
Since then, the Byzantines have expanded their holdings by nearly double, the 35 000 soldiers were making quick progress.
By the 11th, they had also expanded their coastal regions, allowing more supplies.
Yet the 15 300 in Fortress Legion XVII still had yet to surrender despite the hopeless situation. The 13 000 Marines surrounding the Fortress, commanded by Major General Constantine Stilicho, had dug in for the siege, awaiting for the assault to begin.
It had been raining non-stop for 3 days while the Fortress was pounded from sea, air and land.
4 days into the Invasion and troubles were already showing themselves, the Fortress, still in enemy hands, a army nearly 140 000 in Size was coming to face them and the worst of them all, it was coming right for Major General Constantine Stilicho and his men, meaning it would soon be a 155 000 to 13 000 odds.
Defeat seemed probable, the 2 other divisions, a motorized infantry and tank division were still 2 days away from landing and the infantry division was still pushing eastwards.
Major General Constantine Stilicho tugged on his rain jacket as the rain blew in all directions. He was cold, hungry and tired, having just spent a double night swift for his men.
Senior Colonel Flavius Avitus had forced it on him as a challenge to his authority, but this had an interesting effect on his men.
Seeing their commander struggle with them and taking extra hard duties, made some men, not all, but some, respect the Major General.
As Major General Constantine Stilicho yawned, he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was from his 4th in Command, Senior Colonel Marius Rex, A Man who came to respect his commander.
"Enemy forces seem to be gathering near the Hadrian Sector, A Attempt to break the siege" Senior Colonel Marius Rex explained
"Already? It's been less than 4 days, supplies should not be that low already" Major General Constantine Stilicho replied
"I know, but it seems they want to cause our attention to be on them while the 100 000 men arrive to surround us, destroy us and turn the tide" Senior Colonel Marius Rex said
Major General Constantine Stilicho nodded, it was a good statement.
"How many men?" Major General Constantine Stilicho asked
"Around 6000 if i had to guess, they can't risk making their men have too little to allow us to take the walls and can't give too many to make it a butchering" Senior Colonel Marius Rex said
