Laponia Protectorate, Amanocium, January 20th 1640 (2023)

Amanocium, formerly Amanoki, was bustling with activity as the city was undergoing a change of the century. Ever since the Byzantines had arrived, the forceful conversions of Laponia, Formerly Fenn, The changes of new names were made just 20 days ago.

In Addition, More soldiers were placed into the city and country as they prepared for war with Papaldia.

Tensions had been rising for weeks now since the Byzantines imposed their will onto their puppets even more so than before.

Including massacring over 5000 Laurians in Jupiter when the city tried to fight back against the totalitarian government which was imposing their will ever more than before.

The sheer terror which they were bringing was disgusting.

In Riem, their Military Build Up alongside demanding that Mao sell them more stuff, worried the world as well. The tension in the air for the Papaldian-Byzantine Relations could be said to be thicker than oil.

The world also got to witness another act of the Excubitor's Generous terror when the Excubitor Division of Laponia, 6200 in strength.

When they took care of the Religious sects which was outlawed 3 months prior, having the 44 000 Priests, Nuns and more shot, the Shinto-Esque Religion was left without a head or Body.

Count Alfred Von Riten, was the man for the job, for he was a moderate and had promised to keep his cool when dealing with what everyone saw as the spawn of hell.

Stepping off the boat, he looked at the scene in front of him, streets were mostly empty except for Byzantine Soldiers and Excubitors, many formerly important sights for the Fennish people, had been destroyed and construction on Roman Architecture was in full swing.

Von Riten did see some people outside which weren't Romans, All of whom had this sad, sullen expression on them.

As if they had lost all hope in the world and they only did what they were told in the fear of their demise, which was all true.

Count Alfred Von Riten then made his way to the Imperial Palace, which was now renamed to the Senatorial Council House, for Laponia was ruled by a council of 20 Senators from the Byzantine Empire, all of whom ruled with not a Iron Fist but with a Terrorizing Fist.

Many thousands were dying every month due to their laws.

Opening the door inside, Count Alfred Von Riten was surrounded by 4 Excubitor Guards, who patted him down, checked him for anything which seemed dangerous before sending him to a waiting room, full of Propaganda of Empress Julia, Constantine XI and of the Empire itself.

Count Alfred Von Riten felt he was looking at the past with how effective it was, he himself felt emboldened by what he saw.

After a few minutes, the door opened once more and he was met with the Byzantine Diplomat, Alexander Karpov, A Russian who was short, pudgy and had round glasses.

He sat down from across Count Alfred Von Riten and opened a bottle of wine.

"Welcome, Welcome to the Laponia Protectorate, I am Alexander Karpov, Wine?" Karpov Asked
