Papaldian Empire, Papaldian Waters near Dologne, September 18th 1640

The Papaldian Destroyer, the IPS Hipper, a 9000 Ton Destroyer, patrolled the seas yet again. For weeks, incidents had been happening with Byzantine planes and ships, entering their waters.

Firing nearby their commercial ships and worse of all, actively arresting Papaldians crews once they were near their waters and sending them back home after a rough beating.

Tensions with the Byzantine empire had been tense, with a state of near open war being made between them. It was not uncommon for small scale fights, where single ships from both sides fired shots at each other, taking small damages and making things so much more worse.

But nothing compared to the hot zone of Dologne, where most incidents were happening. The city was situated right next to what was once Fenn, It was a major port for the Papaldian Empire, with a population of 1 million and having been a national naval hub for over 800 years.

Because of this, the Papaldians knew that the city would be under the scope of attacks, Dozens P-40 SAM Missile sights had been built in 1640 to ensure that it was well protected.

In Addition, Bunkers were built, mines laid and the City Built More underground Nuclear Proof bunkers in reparations for the worst.

The IPS Hipper, was just one of the 50 ships which protected it from invasion or attack. The Captain, Adolf Von Hoffendoff, had been uneasy for days.

Reports that Byzantine Units had taken small, barren islands right in the International waters, while false. But it kept launching them into panic. It was as if it was the great war all over again.

So many false calls led to many disasters in the battles of the war, for the enemy lay in wait for so long it created an air of fear, panic, paranoia.

And this was what their grandfathers felt dialed to a 11. Many Army Captains demanded they attack first, saying such words as:

"The enemy is wide open for a attack from the skies, let us rain hell upon them and give the first decisive blow"

But Emperor Wilhelm V always refused, wanting to be prepared, the best defense was to let them make a fool of themselves first. Captain Adolf Von Hoffendoff and the navy agreed, they did not have the forces needed to cripple the Byzantines in a single attack.

They only had 1 Carrier near Dologne, which was over 40 years old and had only 70 Planes ready for combat, in all, 330 Planes against a Entire Army was suicide.

Captain Adolf Von Hoffendoff drank his coffee as he watched the skies, suddenly, alarms blared as the Radar showed a Byzantine Jet Bomber, was entering their skies. He quickly put down his coffee and went to the radar.

"What's Happening? Another incursion?" Asked Captain Adolf Von Hoffendoff

"Yes Sir, Enemy Bomber, We're sending a Radio message to them now to turn back, Should be the same as yesterday" Replied his Radar operator.

Captain Adolf Von Hoffendoff nodded, but as the radio message was sent, the enemy bomber kept moving forward, refusing to turn back. Everyone on the bridge got deadly silent until the XO spoke up.

"A Single Bomber? You do not think they are..." He trailed off "Carrying That?"

"We are past that era, if they do have a nuclear device, it would be easy to tell, Send another warning and get CIWS and Anti Air Missile on them, now, They have already reached the line of no return" Captain Adolf Von Hoffendoff responded quickly.
