Republic of Altarus, Le Brias, August 1st 1639

The Republic of Altarus, was an Island nation the size of Spain, Its History was a rich and Long one. Founded in 298, After the people revolted and Crown Brias as Brias the First, The 1st Altarisian Empire was born, conquering large parts of now Papaldia, Mao, Nates, Rodenuis and Vestal, a Colonial and Naval Empire. 

But it's short golden age ended quickly. In 635, Their Maoish lands began a 100 Year revolt to be free.

In 747, Brias V or Brias the Childless, died without heirs, plunging the Empire into 44 years of Anarchy, losing all their Rodenuis lands and Nates. The 2nd Empire was founded in 791 with the Military ruling Via Puppet emperors. 

A Slow recovery showed itself in 879 when they defeated Papaldia in a War, seizing Duro until 1052. 

From 890 to 1030 was a 2nd Golden Age and they managed to conquer all of Modern day Nates and Western Papaldia.

But in 1030, the Imperial War began, a 22 year war which saw Nates become free and Papaldia kicked them out of Philides, Riem and Altarus were humiliated, while Riem rebuilt quickly, Altarus wasn't Lucky. 

From 1052 to 1200, they lost most of their colonies in Vestal and more wars with Papaldia went nowhere. In 1307, their Emperor died and a coup took place, ending the Empire and starting the Kingdom.

Under the Kingdom, recovery was made for 99 years until 1406, when a famine, economic failure and more caused a republic to be made and the royal family killed. 

This sparked a war with Papaldia, lasting until 1426, which crippled both sides, Vestal became free and since then, Altarus was De Jure a Papaldian Puppet until 1536, when Papaldia left following tensions and internal issues.

Today the Republic has a Population of 40 million and a GDP of 531 Billion Solidus, While struggling to grow with the Powerful Papaldia always breathing down their necks on anything they did. 

They were classified as a Great Power for their 100 Ships and nearly 1 Million Boots of the Republican Military.

This Republic was now facing a crisis as more and more Papaldian Ships, Divisions and planes began to assemble opposite of Fenn, Altarus and Mao, they claimed it was military training. 

President of the Republic of Altarus, Pedro Sanchez Francisco de Paula Martínez de la Rosa y Cornejo Luis de Rivera, saw the lies, more so as Papaldian Ships arrived in Le Brias to open diplomatic talks.

But for Pedro Sanchez Francisco de Paula Martínez de la Rosa y Cornejo Luis de Rivera, it was not an opening of diplomatic talks, but a gunboat diplomacy. 

Since he knew that the Papaldians would be coming to him personally to make their demands, he told the foreign affairs office to send them to him whenever they arrived.

It did not take long for the Papaldian Commander, Admiral Henry Von Hipper, to arrive. He was an extremely tall man with a lanky body, older but with an eye patch from losing his eye in a Mutiny years ago.

As he was also a Duke, he had the honor of being given the mission to talk with the Altarisians.

As he stood in front of President Rivera, there was a small silence before Pedro Sanchez Francisco de Paula Martínez de la Rosa y Cornejo Luis de Rivera spoke first.

"Please, take a Seat, you're our guest after all" He began "For what purpose does the Papaldian Empire come here with 21 Ships and I Assume Marines to this...Humble Island?"

Admiral Henry Von Hipper was silent for a few seconds as he heard the word humble, Altarus was too prideful to accept those words. He knew it was a simple way of playing the fool.
