Lovesick

That morning, I woke up at my parent's house. I was going over last night's events. I don't think I've ever seen my mom look so happy. While I was glad, the guilt started eating away at me. 'Am I rude for not being in contact for so long?'
It wasn't that I didn't want to speak to my parents, I just got so busy and never sat down and took the time to write to them. I felt worse thinking about it.
My mom was cooking breakfast and humming loudly when I finally woke up and went downstairs. "Morning, darling!" The nickname my parents had for me always managed to make my heart swell with love.
"Morning, ma."
"Sleep well?" I just groaned in response. I sat down at the table and laid my head down on it, my eyes shutting. "No, not at the table, missy! Now, come on, here's your breakfast." She set down the plate of food in front of me and my stomach made a loud noise that she laughed at. "Darling, I hope you're eating well when you travel. You need to keep your energy up." I nodded and started eating. "Where's dad?" I questioned, my mouth full.
"He went out to check on the cats."
"So, how long are you planning on staying here?"
"Actually, this is it." I looked at her confused. "There's a nice serene feeling I get here. I haven't felt that in a while. Actually, since before you left." I looked down feeling guilty. "Oh, darling, don't feel bad. You're young, you need to get out and live while you can. But you're my baby so I'm always gonna miss you." She put a hand on my cheek and gave me a comforting smile. She always could soothe the bad feelings. I smiled back at her. "We like it here, it's peaceful. Your father likes helping out Hena and Iza."
I laughed at her statement. "Actually, some young man came around here and caught a pretty good amount of fish. He let them all go, though."
"Someone came fishing?" I knew it was a stupid question, it was a fishing hole, I just didn't expect anyone around then because I hadn't noticed anyone else.
"Yes, your father nearly had a heart attack. Scared to death he'd clear out the water. He was lucky that boy set them free." I chewed my food and started thinking.
"Your father asked where he learned to fish like that. He said he got his first pole from a young boy he's friends with from his hometown." I nodded. "You'll never believe who the little sweetie who gave it to him is." I raised my eyebrow in questioning. "Colin." I nearly choked on my food when she said that. "Colin? So he's from Ordon? His name doesn't happen to be Link, right?" She thought for a minute and a small glimmer of hope and disappointment came to me when it looked like she was about to say no.

"That might be his name, I kept thinking it was Lonk."

I covered my face with my hands. 'Great. I lasted a whole few days away from him and now he just happens to stumble upon here. He's persistent, I'll give him that.'
"You alright, darling?" I moved my hands from my face and looked over to my dad who had just come in. "Magnificent. So, umm, I'm gonna go out and...take a swim."
"You can't swim after you just ate! Take a walk instead or a nap." My mother said sternly. I nodded and went to change into my clothes. I slipped on my boots and walked outside, looking around everywhere nervously. Once I saw no sign of Link, I walked out further to the river. "What do I do now?" I thought aloud before I decided to go out for some silence.

My parents managed to build a small cozy house next to Iza. It was a two-story house and was very cute, actually. It was enough for them and a guest, which was me at the moment. I walked around the house to the back where my parents set out some furniture. I sat down on the chairs which were surprisingly comfortable. I opted to lie down on a hammock they had set up. They had two, side by side. My dad rigged up a nice space where the hammocks could be suspended from. They were enclosed and the ceiling was made up like a big window, allowing you to see the sky clearly and enjoy the weather, even on a rainy day. I stared up at the sky and as soon as I felt the peace envelop me like a blanket, I felt the hammock beside me rock. I glanced over and saw my dad. "Hey, kiddo. You look like the weight of the world just fell off your shoulders." I laughed softly. "I wouldn't go that far, but I definitely feel a lot better. This place is nice."
"Yeah, I tried to make this as nice as I could for your mom. She loves coming out here with a book and some tea." The smile on my face never let up. Being around my parents felt so new and calming, even if before I felt smothered. My mom was such a worrier while my dad tried to comfort her. I understood where she was coming from but leaving and going out on my own was the move I needed to take all that time ago.
