Usually, Link spent his days riding around Hyrule or sleeping the day away. Exploring the places he had already with Y/n felt new. It all felt as if he was rediscovering his love for adventure. He knew it had to do with her being around. She brought about this energy that was too brilliant to ignore. It made him feel something he couldn't explain.
Lake Hylia always was a beautiful spot but he never quite noticed how serene it felt until he was there with her. It had been two months since they first came to the lake together. Lying underneath the night sky with her by his side let him see it in a new light. It took his breath away when he finally saw the world in its true nature, something he could never do until she reminded him to just stop and take in his surroundings. To look at its entirety and appreciate everything.

She was so different than anyone he had ever met, she was one of a kind. Yet, she felt so familiar. Since the moment they truly sat down and talked, it all felt so easy and right that he thought he must've met her in a past life. There's no way their fates weren't intertwined in some way. Like a string tying them together, forever fated to find each other. People said this was true of himself, Princess Zelda, and Ganondorf. They would always be destined to have their lives connected.
Y/n was someone he felt he'd met before. Someone who's always been there, someone he finds in every lifetime. The only thing is he doesn't know why he feels so strongly for her. His feelings conflict him and he doesn't want to think of her that way because he's convinced she doesn't see him in this way.
He heard her shift next to him and looked over at her. She had turned over and ended up right beside him, touching his shoulder. He was admiring her face while she slept but turned his head away when he realized it could come off as creepy should she wake up. The urge to pull her in and hold her while she slept was present but he resisted.
The smile on his face never let up, his cheeks were starting to hurt. He could feel things fixing themselves. He meant it when he said he'd fix things. The silence was calming and the way the stars were shining brightly alongside the moon was a beautiful sight. Everything felt okay then. It didn't feel like something was around the corner waiting to screw things up for him.

Then the morning came around and the sun shined brightly.
"Link!" He turned around to face the voice calling him. He saw Y/n walk away from her horse after feeding her and Epona and then she began walking over to him. She had a bit of a...mischievous glint in her eyes? He smiled at her and waved, she picked up her pace.
"Hey, where were y-" Once she reached him, she stopped him in the middle of his sentence when she grabbed a fist full of his tunic, pulled him down to her, and kissed him. His initial shock faded away quickly and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in closer. It was a deep kiss, their longing for each other pouring into it. She pulled away and looked at him with a smile.
Her cheeks were pink but it was nothing compared to the deep blush Link had. She kissed his lips, then his cheek, and trailed down to his jawline. When he didn't pull away or push her, she moved down to his neck. She left light kisses down it and then moved to his ear. "Link..." Her voice was laced with wanting and slight begging. Her tongue dragged up the shell of his ear and he felt a chill of pleasure rack his body. One of his hands moved down to her hip and his fingers dug into it. His other hand went to slide up into her shirt, and she let out a shaky breath. "Link..."

"Link.."

"Link."

"Link!"
His eyes shot open. "Are you alright?" Y/n was next to him, kneeling with her hand on his forehead. "Your face is super red! Are you sick?" He had been asleep. All of that was a dream. 'A very unlikely dream. What was that?' He thought to himself but then quickly shook his head to rid himself of the thought and to tell her he was alright. He sat up and began moving away from her in a hurry. "Intense dream."

"You wanna talk about it?"

"No! Uh, no." He cleared his throat and stood up. She shot him a suspicious look but decided to let it go. "Your face is still red. You sure you're feeling okay?" He nodded but didn't look at her. He walked over to Epona. He rummaged through his bag so she couldn't see him. "You sure you're okay?" He nodded his head, again, hoping she would stop asking.
"Okay...we should probably go to Castle Town. It's been a while since I went to check on everything."
"Mhm."

She didn't question his strange behavior and simply mounted her horse and they took off. Meanwhile, all Link did was question himself. He didn't understand where that came from and why he actually kind of liked it. 'She's just a friend.' He repeated that in his head over and over again. He stupidly thought he could convince himself of that.
The silence between them persisted until she broke it.

"You want to get a drink?" He gave her a nod and they took off to Castle Town.
Reaching Telma's Bar, she glanced over at him and saw he was deep in thought. They walked inside the bar and Telma greeted them with a big smile and a bear hug.
"Darling, so good to see you! How's it been?" Y/n smiled and returned the embrace. "It's been good! Link here has been a wonderful partner." Telma slapped his back and he winced. "I'm glad to hear it. Come on and have a seat!"
They sat at the bar and both got a cider. "Now, seen anything special on your travels?"

"Not just yet. But we've had fun."

"Well, as long as you're both happy. And being safe." Y/n chugged her cider and Telma gave her a second one. Link looked over at her and took a sip out of his. "Come on, Link. Catch up!" She had downed the second one already. 'This woman is terrifying. I love it.'

6 drinks later, on her part, the bar was noisy with laughter and conversation between everyone. Knights had come in and were pulled in by her charm and humor. Link had only had two drinks and Telma was cutting Y/n off after her 7th. Someone came in and began playing some music and she grinned. She drank her last drink and grabbed Link's hands, pulling him up to his feet. "Link, let's dance!" Link awkwardly smiled and danced with her. Her cheeks were flushed and her body felt hot.

Telma watched them both and finally felt like she was in good hands. As they turned around, a knight stood up and walked towards them both, possibly to ask her to dance. Link spun her around so her back was to the knight and Link was facing him. He glared at the knight and he backed off, scared to anger the Hero. Telma chuckled seeing the scene. 'She's in good hands, alright.'

"Link, you're such a great friend. I'm glad we met. Even if you went about it wrong." Link just nervously laughed at her comment and took her to sit down. 'Friend, ouch.' He thought and sat her down. Telma gave her some water. "She's a handful. You know, I've never seen her this happy." Link wasn't completely listening as he stared at Y/n. She was still smiling with her eyes closed, swaying in her seat to the music. He felt something warm in his chest and he couldn't think straight as he looked down to her lips. He wondered if they were as soft as they looked. Telma gave them a knowing smile.

"Ahh, young love."
