"One more John, then we really need to be hitting the hay. G will kill us." Stephen smirked. They had found an empty bistro table far from the house. The rehearsal dinner had finished a good few hours prior and all that were left were the catering staff and wedding organisers putting things right for the big day ahead. "I know. Just have this last Cuban with me bud." Johnny said happily handing one to his best pal.

They both lit up and inhaled, the summer temperatures embracing their bodies even in the early hours of the morning. "So, are you ready?" Stephen said before taking another drag. "Ready? Is anyone ever ready?" Johnny smirked. "Well I don't know, I think I know you pretty well and know that last time you were not ready at all." "Nah that was not like this, that was so forced. I didn't even feel happiness, just relief that she may change. This is different. Holly has changed my world." Johnny admitted. "She's rocked your world I'll give her that." Stephen replied. "You like her though right? She's good for me?" Johnny questioned. "God yes. At this stage I think G likes her more than me and you combined. Let's face it, you can never split because who would we keep?" Stephen chuckled. "Same thoughts I have about you and G." Johnny said placing the cigar between his lips and chuckling. The men had loosened their shirts and ditched their jackets hours prior and looked effortlessly cool leaning back in their chairs.

"We've only ever wanted you to be happy." Stephen said sipping his whiskey a while later, "and I am. Never been happier bud. The kids are happy, she's happy, I'm happy." Johnny said. "The children are my life, they are all that matters and Hols actually gets that you know? When I popped the question all she cared about was them. She wanted to speak with them, she didn't care for elaborate celebrations or showing off. First thing she asked was did they know and where were they." Stephen nodded knowing the story well. "Well she's a caring soul. She's an old soul like you. Fame, fortune, being flash just doesn't work for her." Johnny nodded with a smile. "You should have seen her face when I gave her the bracelet. I didn't tell her how much it cost. She would die." Stephen chuckled "probably best you keep it a secret then hey!" Johnny took another drag before leaning into Stephen. "I've bought her a Harry Winston choker for the honeymoon. Just hope she doesn't see it in my bag." Stephen nodded "nice.. you flash git." He said laughing. "Am I not allowed to spoil my woman?!! I didn't see you or G complaining when I offered this place to you for three weeks uninterrupted!" Johnny chuckled. "True..."

"Come on.. bed." Stephen said strictly an hour later, they stood and he chucked an arm round his pal. "You really are the most amazing friend do you know that Deuters." "Yeah yeah yeah, tell me that after no whiskey and I may believe you." "Nah I'm serious pal, you really are a brother." "You are to me too." Stephen replied sincerely as they headed back to the main house. "I am so in love with her man." "Yes we know..." Stephen smirked. "She's my girl. And tomorrow I tell the world." "Ha.. not quite the world but yes you make it official." They quietly entered the house and replaced the whiskey back on the bar. "My girl. My Hols." Johnny said quietly but Stephen heard him. "Do you think I could just go see her.." Johnny said in hushed tones. "Absolutely not!! You may have been to the alter a few times but this is her first and hopefully only time... she would kill you for ruining tradition." "Yeah suppose you're right.. well night mate." "See ya in the morning pal." Stephen said heading towards the guest room. "And don't get it on with G... big day tomorrow, I need you competent!" Johnny smirked.

He climbed into bed a while later and rolled over placing his hand on his wife to be's pillow. It still smelt of her, and he smiled hoping she was getting some sleep before he rolled over once more, staring at the photograph of them both that resided on his bedside table. "I won't let you down." He whispered.
